Job role: Health & Safety Officer – Waterford
The CSR Group has been retained by one of Ireland's main building contractors looking for a senior level H&S professional to join their ever-growing company.
This company works across all sectors within the construction industry such as retail, fit-outs, industrial, residential, etc.
This is an amazing opportunity for an enthusiastic H&S professional to implement a top-down approach to the sites they will be working on. This company classifies H&S as a main priority within their working environment.
The successful candidate will have prior H&S experience within the construction industry.
Day-to-day responsibilities:
Keeping up to date with new legislation and maintaining a working knowledge of all Health and Safety Executive (HSE) legislation and any developments that affect the employer's industry.Leading in-house training with managers and employees about health and safety issues and risks.Outlining safe operational procedures which identify and take account of all relevant hazards and communicating to all employees.Keeping records of inspections findings and producing reports that suggest improvements.Keeping records of incidents and accidents and producing statistics for managers.Delivering Toolbox Talks and liaising with HSE, Fire Officers, Environmental Health Officers.Carrying out regular site inspections to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented and adhered to.Making changes to working practices making them safer and ensuring they comply with current legislation.Skills and qualifications:
Recognised EHS Degree or Diploma (NEBOSH diploma or equivalent qualification preferred).3+ years in a similar role.IT Skills.This is an excellent opportunity for somebody that wants to further their career in health and safety with great career progression opportunities.
