Role Summary We have a purpose-built children's respite centre on our campus in Glenageary, providing a welcome break for families, and fun and development for children who attend.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a renowned service in the intellectual disability working as a Health Care Assistant.
You will be required to work long days, waking nights and weekend shifts.
We are funded by the HSE and as such the role is within the public service and subject to annual increments, generous annual leave, and pensions.
The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, flexible, innovative, and committed to providing a quality service that responds to the needs and priorities of the children attending respite and their families.
Minimum Requirements A recognised and relevant qualification in health or social care (QQI Level 5 is required).
A proven track record in the delivery of person-centered services and supports.
Awareness of Positive Behavior Supports desirable.
Experience of working with children who have an intellectual disability (additional support needs).
Be innovative, resourceful, flexible and have excellent communication, interpersonal, administrative and co-ordination skills.
Ability to work both in a busy team environment and independently.
A flexible approach to work in different environments and locations within Children's Services.
Ability to support and facilitate young people to interact and positively engage.
A full manual driving license Remuneration Salary Grade 6482 Care Assistant on the Consolidated HSE pay scale.
€32,669 - €45,984 (Pro Rata) Location The location of this role is Glenageary, Co. Dublin .
However, you may be required, from time to time, to work at SJOG CS's other places of business or/and the premises of such associated s companies or organisations as SJOG CS may require.
You will be given as much notice of any such change of place of work as is reasonably practicable.
