Job summary Louth HospitalHealth Care Support WorkerBand 3Shift work covering 24 hours a day, seven days a weekAn opportunity has arisen for Health Care Support Worker positions at Louth Hospital .The successful applicant will have a flexible approach to work which reflects the needs of the busy clinical area.
The working hours include weekends and bank holidays.
Main duties of the job Briefly, the duties include the delivery of care to the patients as identified in their specific plans, to the highest standard within the clinical areas.
You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, under supervision, and be willing to enhance your skill base through training provisionPhysical effortModerate physical effort for short and long periods, moving, handling and positioning patients and equipment.Mental effortCommunicating with patients and relatives with communication difficultiesEmotional effortDealing with difficult and emotional issues such as: caring for palliative care patients, dealing with dying patients and their relatives and carers.Working conditionsDirect/indirect contact or exposure to body fluids.May be exposed to violent and aggressive patients and members of the public.Limited exposure to hazardous substances but these are controlled.Works in an area which complies with the Health & Safety Policy.Please see job description attached for full details.
