Camphill Communities of Ireland (CCoI) are recruiting for:   House Coordinator (Maternity leave cover).
  Camphill Communities of Ireland are seeking to hire a House Coordinator to cover maternity leave. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is looking for a new challenge.      Purpose of Post   The primary purpose of this role is to provide a safe and effective service to the residents within your care through the implementation of quality and safe processes and systems within the house or houses that you are responsible for. This includes oversight of Social Care Assistants and Volunteers.     This role is required to effectively implement compliance with all statutory requirements as well as quality and safety requirements in a person-centred way arising under service agreements with the HSE and any other funding or oversight bodies. The person appointed to the post should be innovative and dynamic and should report on a regular basis on the quality of service offered, identifying issues and areas which require attention or improvement.    The position requires a high degree of understanding and commitment to the residents and to Camphill Communities of Ireland. The prime consideration at all times must be for the welfare and wellbeing of the residents.
This position requires a high degree of professionalism. Confidentiality with regard to residents and staff is most important.    The House Coordinator must have the ability to work with people with an intellectual disability and must believe that the person has the right to live and participate in the community equally with other people. The House Coordinator, in co-operation with the Person In Charge will be responsible for the overall growth and direction of the residents and ensuring the daily requirements of a safe and effective service is evidenced in line with national policy and procedure.     The person appointed must be highly responsible and reliable, be competent in household management and have the ability to create and maintain a homely and supportive environment.
The position requires a maturity enabling the person to resolve conflict and can understand and empower people with sometimes quite divergent points of view.      The person appointed should be flexible in their approach to service provision and should have the ability to lead and work as a member of a team.
They will be required to take an active part in ensuring that the day-to-day operations of the Service reflect the ethos and vision of CCoI and that all staff are meeting the needs of the individuals supported by the Service.
They will be required, whilst setting a personal example by attitude, conduct, practice, and leadership style to carry out the duties of the post outlined hereafter.        Duties & Responsibilities   The House Coordinator shall be responsible for the following:       Advocacy and Rights     Uphold and respect the human, legal and constitutional rights of individuals supported CCoI, recognising their uniqueness and equality, and enabling and supporting them to grow and develop, thereby achieving the highest possible level of personal autonomy.  Ensure that individuals supported by the Services are encouraged to develop their self-advocacy skills and opportunities for involvement in advocacy.  Foster among residential support staff respect for the tenancy rights of individuals in residences and ensure that they are consulted and in agreement with all matters in relation to their living arrangements and environment.    Person Centred Support for Living     Ensure that the keyworker system is implemented and ensure that individuals receive a high quality, personalised service which addresses their needs and wishes.  Ensure that individuals are supported and facilitated in the development, implementation and review of their personal plans, intimate care plans, behaviour support plans and that the actions agreed in these plans are carried out.  Ensure that individuals are supported in achieving the greatest degree of autonomy and participation possible in the management of their own health, including where possible the development of self-medication skills.  Assist and support the residential support staff to ensure that individuals have their social, educational and vocational development needs addressed by the provision of opportunities to experience different options, training, advice, instruction and support.    Ensure that individuals supported by the services are facilitated and encouraged to develop their choice and decision-making skills.  Ensure that individuals supported by the services are facilitated to actively participate and integrate into the community, through the use of generic community facilities.      Management & Leadership     Be responsible for the management and administration of the service to which assigned.  Lead and develop the staff team in supporting the delivering of person-centred services, problem solving and seeking solutions to outcomes and barriers raised in the delivery of person-centred plans.  Provide active support and assistance to the staff through one-to-one supervision.  Ensure that rosters for permanent and relief residential support staff are organised to provide adequate support in the service area.  Ensure that all residential support staff take their required annual leave within the specific time frame.  Ensure that the various policy guidelines, procedures and documentation of the organisation are made available to staff and that they are familiar with, understand and adhere to these guidelines.  Ensure that correct procedures are carried out in respect of grievance, disciplinary and any other relevant policies.  Ensure that all reports, timesheets and financial statements are accurate, completed and returned on time.
Assist residential support staff maintain good practice in report writing and record keeping.  Maintain complete and accurate records for each person to include the personal needs assessments, risk assessments, incidents and notifiable events, file notes, communication plans, behavioural management support, health action plans, medication management and financial records.  Ensure immediate and accurate reporting of all matters of concern to the Person in Charge (PIC).  Ensure that any behaviour support plans devised for people in residence are implemented and that their implementation is documented and evaluated as requested.  Ensure that the residences are presented in a home like fashion congruent with standards of hygiene and cleanliness, both inside and outside the properties, appropriate to community living.  Ensure that each resident has access to comprehensive, person centred and holistic personal support.   Ensure all medical appointments are managed and supported.  Ensure Annual Health Planners are maintained and in place for all CMSNs and updated as appropriate.  Ensure a healthy and nutritious diet is offered and takes individual need and choice into account.  Be responsible for care management of all residents in the households and their records to include the protection of adults within your care against all forms of abuse. Ensure strict reporting and recording of any such abuse.  Lead the household by ensuring appropriate:   Physical support - moving and handling, fire safety, cleaning, laundry, infection control, mobility and communication needs.  Personal care - dressing, bathing, toileting, assistance with eating, sleeping support, skin care, first aid, and health promotion.    Promote an open culture to learning, feedback and complaints in line with CCoI polices.  Monitor and support staff in the administration and management of medication.  Lead, develop and participate fully with a team-based approach to Performance Management and the Strategic Plan. Managing in a clear and positive manner, setting high standards and supporting people to achieve these.  Promote and foster a team approach including the delegation of duties, utilising the diverse skills and experience of all team members.  Be involved in the recruitment, selection, induction, probation, performance and attendance of staff.  Ensure that all legislative, CCoI polices, and regulatory requirements (including Health & Safety Act and HIQA regulations and standards) are adhered to and complied with by continuous monitoring, inspection and audit of the designated centre.    Ensure the newest version of all CCoI policies are being adhered to.    Participate in Community Management Meetings and give full update on each CMSN.  Complete all assigned audit actions through Viclarity in the allocated timeframe.      Money and Budgets     Monitor the application of the budget for each residence and report to the Person in Charge on the effectiveness and efficiency of same.  Be accountable for all monies which you may be responsible for.  Be active in the preparation of the budget for your area of responsibility and in the prudent application of same.  Ensure that the residents are consulted regarding the application and use of the budget.  Ensure that all House Accounts are appropriately documented and submitted for inclusion in the main financial management system of CCoI.  Ensure that finances and assets of individuals are protected in line with CCoI Residents Finance Policy.        Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience     Applicants must:  Hold a minimum of a Level 7 on the QQI Framework - BA in Social Care Studies or equivalent qualification in Heath or Social Care.  Candidates must have a minimum of 1 years' experience in a supervisory capacity within a similar social care setting  Have a minimum of 3 years' experience working in the disability sector/vulnerable adults.  Detailed understanding of current policy and developments at national and sectoral level in relation to Social Care within disability services.  Excellent working knowledge of HIQA Regulations and Standards  Thorough knowledge and understanding of safeguarding requirements including Trust in Care and Children's First  Ability to lead, direct, coordinate and delegate the work of the team while providing consistent and quality support for vulnerable adults.  Effective interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills.  Proficient IT skills relevant to the role, to include Microsoft Office Excel, Word, SharePoint, OneDrive and Teams.  A full driver's licence and availability of own car is an essential requirement.    What we offer:   Competitive salary with Sunday and Bank Holiday premiums  Pay scales  Career progression opportunities  Work/life balance  Paid annual leave  Refer a friend scheme  Employee Assist Programme offering advice and counselling  Death in Service Benefit  Paid mandatory training  Paid travel expenses      Details of the Role:            Salary Scale: Annual salary €38,137 -
