Our client is excited to announce an opening for a dynamic Principal or Senior Ecologist to join their growing environmental team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned professional with a minimum of 6 years of experience in diverse infrastructure projects, especially in coordinating Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and statutory consent applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in writing and technical review of Environmental Impact Assessment Reports, Ecological Impact Assessments, and Habitats Directive Appropriate Assessments.
Minimum Requirements: A relevant third-level degree (Level 8 or higher)Over 6 years of post-qualification experience, primarily in ecology roles within planning or environmental consultancyMembership in the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM)Proven track record in delivering EIAR, NIS, EcIA, and AA reportsExpertise in leading and coordinating EIA projects for major infrastructure initiatives, including all EIA stagesProficiency in marine EIA technical areas such as aquatic ecology, marine ecology, ornithology, and commercial fisheriesExperience with freshwater and marine consent management, compliance, and related technical assessmentsStrong skills in liaising with statutory consultees and crafting environmental mitigation proposalsComprehensive understanding of consent and licensing frameworks for terrestrial and offshore infrastructure in IrelandExceptional technical report writing, planning, project management, and leadership skillsDesirable: Postgraduate qualifications (Master's or Doctorate)Chartered status with a professional body such as CIEEMExperience in large-scale freshwater, wastewater, and marine infrastructure projectsSkills in tender preparation and client relationship managementA full clean driver's license and access to a vehicle for survey travel are essential.
