Company Overview: Ethos Care operates a number of nursing homes across Ireland. We are looking to hire a proactive, detail-oriented Human Resources Manager who will assist our staff in providing best-in-class care to the Residents in each of the nursing homes we operate.
The Human Resources (HR) Manager will be responsible for managing all HR-related activities, including recruitment, performance management, employee relations, compliance, and training, to ensure that the organization attracts, develops, and retains high-performing employees. This role involves partnering with department heads to align HR initiatives with business objectives while maintaining a positive work environment that promotes engagement and growth.
Key Responsibilities: Employee Relations & Engagement Act as a primary point of contact for employee relations issues, providing guidance and resolution on workplace conflicts and disciplinary matters.Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture, promoting employee engagement, recognition, and well-being.Conduct employee engagement surveys, analyze results, and implement action plans to improve satisfaction and retention.Develop, implement, and align HR strategies and initiatives with the overall business strategy.Drive HR initiatives that support organizational growth, employee engagement, and retention.Work closely with senior leadership to identify staffing needs and contribute to workforce planning.Talent Acquisition & Management Lead recruitment efforts, including sourcing, interviewing, and hiring processes, to attract and retain high-quality talent.Develop and implement onboarding programs that ensure a smooth integration of new employees.Oversee performance management systems, ensuring regular employee evaluations, performance feedback, and career development planning.Oversee compensation and benefits administration, ensuring market competitiveness and internal equity.Evaluate and improve the company's benefits offerings, focusing on employee satisfaction and cost-effectiveness.Manage annual salary review and performance bonus processes in partnership with finance and senior leadership.Learning & Development Identify training needs and support career development initiatives, including leadership development and succession planning.Coordinate and deliver internal training sessions and manage external training resources.Develop and implement talent development programs that align with the organization's goals.Compliance & HR Policies Ensure compliance with all Irish employment laws and regulations, including GDPR requirements for employee data.Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures, ensuring they reflect legal compliance and industry best practices.Keep up-to-date with changes in legislation and advise management on relevant policy adjustments.HR Systems & Reporting Oversee the maintenance of accurate HR records and ensure HR systems are fully optimized.Generate HR metrics and reports for management, providing insights on turnover, engagement, absence, and other key metrics.Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance HR processes and drive operational efficiency.Requirements Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. CIPD qualification or equivalent is preferred.
Experience: 5+ years of experience in HR, with at least 2 years in a managerial role. Experience in a healthcare setting preferable but not essential.
Knowledge: Strong knowledge of Irish employment law and HR best practices.Familiarity with HR systems and databases.Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Strong organizational and time-management abilities.Strategic thinker with the ability to work hands-on when needed.High level of integrity and confidentiality.Additional Information: Work Hours: Full-time position; flexibility may be required depending on business needs.
Location: Office-based in Cork, Ireland with occasional remote work flexibility.
