Munters Data Centres is looking for an Application Engineer to join our expanding European Team.The position can be based in one of our EMEA locations in Belgium (Bruxelles), UK (London) or Ireland (Dublin or Cork).
KEY ACTIVITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES The Data Centre Application Engineer will provide high quality engineered solutions and technical support in the application, design and selection of Data Centre Cooling solutions, providing both engineering and commercial support to sales staff as well as to customers.
You will maximise our margins by selecting the correct solutions and production of accurate costings and schematics, and will report to the Data Centre Technology Manager.
As an Application Engineer, you will: ? Provide technical support for Data Centre projects from inception to shipment.
? Help to maintain and improve margins through the correct selection of solutions, and the production of accurate costing and schematics.
? Provide engineered solutions, applications and product support to customers and sales team.
? Gain a comprehension of customer design requirements through the review of specifications, drawings and customer interface.
With this knowledge, develops designed solutions and equipment selections.
? Prepare cost estimates by studying drawings, specifications, and related customer documents; consulting with engineers, architects, and other professional and technical personnel as required.
? Work with the operations team to provide equipment lead times that meet customer requirements.
? Develop equipment / project scope definition and "turnover" documentation to engineering and production for manufacturing the equipment.
? Determine improvements by analysing cost-benefit ratios of equipment, suppliers, or service applications in customer environment; engineering or proposing changes in equipment, processes, or use of materials or services.
? Provide timely and accurate response to all support requests internally and externally.
? Confer, cooperate and communicate with all elements of the company.
? Develop customer's knowledge of Munters solutions by providing technical information and training.
? Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
? Travel as required in support of customer, sales team.
? Liaise with DC Business development manager to prioritize workload, feedback on competitor activity and advise potential problems in a timely fashion.
TYPE AND LEVEL OF EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE ? Minimum 5 years' Experience or knowledge of Data Centre cooling solutions ? ONC/HND or degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline ? Highly IT literate, including Microsoft Office 365, CRM, and application software Revision 18.01 Page 9 ? AutoCAD , Solidworks, BIM ? Ability to read and interpret PNID ? Understanding of Psychometrics ? Strong Communications/Interpersonal Skills ? Highly Self-Motivated and Driven ? Detail-Oriented ? Fluent in English, 2nd language is a plus.
