Job DescriptionElgin Energy is a full-service, utility scale solar+storage platform bringing projects from origination through to energisation.
Elgin is active across the project lifecycle including project origination through to construction management and operational asset management.

The role:

This is a broad role within the legal team and as Elgin Energy grows it is likely that the role will evolve and change with the business.
This role offers interesting and rewarding work in an innovative and progressive environment.
This is a unique position that offers the right person a lot of autonomy but will also need to work well as part of a team, actively contributing to the department's development and continued success.

The role will be based in Dublin or London, with the successful candidate attending the Elgin Energy office in either Dublin or London.
Attendance at the office is expected four days weekly.

Initially, the role will involve assisting with all aspects of Elgin Energy's operations with a particular focus on real estate, energy, funding, and corporate transactions.

You will: Support the development team in real estate negotiations for the assembly of large scale solar and storage sites across all jurisdictions (with the emphasis on UK and Ireland) including heads of terms, options, agreements for lease, leases, easements and other land agreements;Carry out site due diligence to include investigation and reporting on title, review of searches and site assembly;Feed into development funding processes including securing project finance and other funding arrangements;Collaborate with various internal departments and stakeholders to provide legal support throughout the project lifecycle;Conduct legal research, assess risks, and provide recommendations related to project execution and compliance;Advise on planning related queries as projects move through the planning and construction lifecycle;Review project contracts, agreements, and related documents;Monitor project timelines, milestones, and deliverables to ensure legal compliance;Assist in corporate matters including mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, joint ventures and corporate disposals;Review and advise on commercial contracts such as letters of engagement and agreements with third-party suppliers; and manage and instruct external counsel. Your profileOur Ideal Candidate will have: 4 to 8 years strong post qualification experience obtained in a top-tier firm or in-house;Experience to include real estate, energy, projects, financing, and corporate transactions;Experience in planning related matters would be helpful;Excellent drafting, communication, and organisational skills with a keen attention to detail;A high level of motivation and a friendly manner to enable effective and positive engagement with colleagues, external legal counsel, and key stakeholders;The ability to work proactively and within a team;A flexible approach to work to be undertaken;The ability to problem solve and work independently under senior legal counsel;Experience across some or all aspects of corporate transactions including mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, and venture capital; andHighly organised and efficient with an ability to manage multiple priorities and ensure deadlines are consistently met.A competitive compensation package to include salary, bonus, pension, healthcare, life/income protection, and flexible work-life balance.
