Our client is seeking a seasoned information security officer to lead their efforts in protecting data and ensuring governance and compliance with security regulations.
The role is ideally suited for candidates with 3+ years in a security officer role, with experience across Incident Response, Threat Management, Identity and Access Management (IAM), and Vulnerability Assessment.
This position is a 12-month rolling contract within the financial services industry.
Responsibilities:Develop, implement, and maintain the organization's information security policies, procedures, and standards.Monitor and respond to security incidents, vulnerabilities, and threats, ensuring timely resolution and reporting.Conduct regular risk assessments, audits, and penetration tests to identify and mitigate potential security gaps.Collaborate with IT teams to design secure systems and applications, ensuring compliance with industry standards.Provide training and awareness programs to employees to promote best practices in information security.Maintain compliance with relevant legal and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001, SOC 2).Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field; professional certifications (CISSP, CISM, or equivalent) are highly desirable.Proven experience (5+ years) in information security, risk management, or a related discipline.Strong understanding of security frameworks, including ISO 27001, NIST, and GDPR compliance.Hands-on experience with firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, SIEM tools, and encryption technologies.Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work under pressure during security incidents.Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.If this opportunity is of interest, click the APPLY button to direct a copy of your application to Lee Monahan at Oliver James for immediate consideration.
