Optum is seeking an Infrastructure Integration IT Engagement Manager to join a highly visible and dynamic team responsible for assessing, planning, and delivering IT integration services for inorganic growth strategies. As a key member of this team, you will lead the infrastructure integration of acquired companies, minimizing business disruption, and ensuring the company is maximizing the value of acquisition through integration.
Primary Responsibilities: Be the overall lead from Enterprise Technology Infrastructure, Platforms & Services (ETIPS) for each assigned integration delivery engagement. Effectively build, develop, and manage relationships across all stakeholders, including senior executives, setting expectations. Present to business and IT teams on Optum's IT security and integration workstreams including the value/benefit of the services that will be delivered. Lead post-close IT due diligence to prepare for integration. Identify and assess necessary technical and business goals, objectives, requirements and expectations plus other needed information required to produce an integrated delivery plan and budget. Drive the integrated delivery plan with clear goals and operating mechanisms. Author and distribute regularly scheduled written updates for each integration engagement, and present updates to integration stakeholders. Establish and manage the IT acquisition integration budget. Recognize integration blockers early and facilitate structured problem solving to develop solutions. Provide guidance/direction to the Integration Lead who is driving the day-to-day work. Take on critical challenges. Look beyond normal boundaries and provide leadership to cross-functional teams in planning, problem solving, and implementing infrastructure integration processes and services. Establish resourcing needs with business partners. Help the business partner understand the work, needed roles and level of effort. Identify and escalate business partner staffing gaps. Communicate clearly, succinctly and often with all stakeholders to ensure alignment and meeting of integration objectives. Optimize our M&A playbook to ensure a smooth, rapid, and efficient integration of business partners into Optum's IT landscape. Maintain knowledge of current and emerging Optum technologies/services related to security and IT integration. Lead change while fostering a culture of collaboration, flexibility and trust. Work effectively in a diverse and distributed organization. Required Qualifications: Proven extensive IT experience. Proven IT program management experience in a fast-paced and growth-oriented environment. C-Level presentation experience. Attention to detail and a high level of efficiency. Outstanding problem-solving skills. Ability to define and structure problems, collect and analyze data, and synthesize defendable recommendations into an action plan. Broad IT background with domain experience or knowledge in IT security, user collaboration tools, desktops, networks, application hosting and call centers. Highly motivated with proven success meeting commitments in a deadline-driven environment with multiple competing priorities. Demonstrated ability to influence opinion without direct managerial control. Strategic thinker. Customer focused and results driven. Preferred Qualifications: Previous consulting experience. Previous M&A integration experience. Record of developing relationships at technical, management, and executive levels.
