The Role: The successful candidate will be involved in the implementation of a person centred individualised programme for adults with an intellectual disability in line with the New Directions standards.
The successful candidate will have responsibility to fill a key worker role for the people supported by the services.
Reporting/Responsible To: Team Leader/Team Manager/ Service Coordinator/Area Manager
Qualifications/Experience: Candidates require a Level 6 on the QQI framework in the following - Social Care, Therapy Assistant, Community Development, Creative Digitial Media, Creative Arts, Arts & Design - Pottery, Ceramics or Craft Textiles.
Candidates must have a minimum of 1 years' experience working in day services designing and implementing programmes to enable them to carry out successfully the duties of the post together with an appreciation of the needs of persons with an intellectual disability.
Experience in establishing links with the community and micro enterprises is essential.
A full clean manual Driving Licence, which qualifies you to drive manual transmission vehicles on Irish Roads is an essential requirement.
Fluency in verbal and written English is an essential requirement of this post.
Working Hours: 78 hours a fortnight based on a 5-day week duty roster.
The normal working hours will be Monday – Friday but may involve weekend work if required to meet the needs of the people we support or Personal Outcomes.
Contracted hours of work are liable to change from 8am to 8pm over 7 days to meet the requirements of the programme.
The Brothers of Charity model of service is based on Personal Outcome Measures requiring employees to be flexible in their working hours to provide a quality service delivery for each individual.
Annual Leave: 22 days per annum.
Remuneration: € 33,581 x 12 increments - € 49,364 per annum.

Tenure: This position is permanent, full-time and pensionable – 78 hours per fortnight
Probation: A probationary period of nine months from the date of appointment applies to the post.
The employment may be terminated at any time during the probationary period should the employer find that the appointee is unsuitable to continue employment.
The probation period may be extended at the Employer's discretion.
