Job Description: The importance of understanding the impact of social and digital media is more pronounced than ever. From widespread activism movements being coordinated on Facebook and Twitter, to mis/disinformation emerging on digital media and amplified across social media, to consumer trends originating from Instagram or TikTok; having the proper insight to inform planning and strategies is now key for every organization. Storyful is at the heart of this crucial work, and is looking to grow the Intelligence team to tackle these critical issues.
The Intelligence Strategist will ideally have a deep curiosity about social and digital media, and a passion for discovering and making sense of the patterns and behaviors that exist on these established and emerging platforms. The role centers around working in a team, creating market-leading insights and providing them to Storyful's portfolio of global clients that includes executives, communications teams, consultancies, brands and international media organizations.
The right candidate will be at home diving into social and digital data to find and tell the real story behind the numbers. They will be a strong writer, have a great attention to detail and a desire to learn how to harness different and unstructured sources of data to create a more complete picture of the questions posed by our clients. Most importantly, they will have a talent for crafting and presenting these vital insights for a diverse set of stakeholders.
The ideal candidate has a minimum of two years experience performing research and analysis in social media, financial services, consultancy, corporate communications, consumer insights, newsroom, or brand/agency environment and is passionate about the potential of data-driven social intelligence to lead the way in the development of strategic communications, branding and marketing plans.

Responsibilities: Works on every aspect of the Intelligence team processes, from casting the net wide across social and digital media, discovering key patterns and trends, to client briefing and report delivery.Mining, structuring and making sense of data using a variety of quantitative and qualitative tools, and ultimately producing fascinating reports that provide clients with insight, direction and guidance based on the research done.Actively participates in the building of Intelligence solutions based on market direction and client needs.Create and present engaging client briefings based on the insights created.Works with Storyful product teams to guide evolution of internal product suite.Minimum Requirements: At least two years of relevant experience within a social media, corporate communications, consultancy, market research, consumer, media or brand agency environment.Ideally, a familiarity and strong interest in leading social media platforms and open source intelligence (OSINT) techniques, or other experience in qualitative research.Excellent communication, presentation and client management skills.Innovative, proactive and hands-on approach to providing clients with creative solutions to address their challenges.Proficiency in writing skills to craft internal and client correspondence, communications plans, new business proposals, etc.High standards of copy editing, fact-checking and writing skills.BA/MA qualified in a related discipline.Fluency in a non-English language is a plus, but not required.Experience using online monitoring tools such as BrandWatch, BuzzSumo, Mintel, Crimson Hexagon, NewsWhip, Factiva, Sysomos a plus.
