Overview We are recruiting a Head of Sales and Business Development who will be directly responsible for sales in our business here in Ireland.
This role is responsible for leading a team of sales professionals to grow sales of Structured Cabling, Networking, Components in office and Data Centre fitout markets.
The role is responsible for both maintaining and driving the growth of sales in Ireland by developing and implementing strategies to achieve revenue, margin improvement, and growth targets.
This lead person will also have a personal sales target to hit, while also managing the combined sales number for Onnec Ireland.
The role is part of a global sales team so will also work very closely with the other country sales leads, the Sales Directors for Strategic Accounts and Components and the Director of Design and Pre-Sales, to ensure the sales focus and strategies are fully aligned.
The role will also work closely with the Global Head of Operations to ensure smooth transition from sales to operational delivery for our global clients.
Successful candidates will have an excellent understanding and experience of the industry and specifically the Irish Structured Cabling & Active Networking market.
Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers within the Irish market, in particular the end user clients and Consulting Engineers Understand the unique needs and challenges of each account and develop customised sales strategies.
Secure new business for Onnec Ireland Develop and execute account comprehensive, specific account strategies to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
Establish clear account plans, objectives, and KPIs for each strategic account.
Drive revenue and growth upselling, cross-selling, and identifying new business opportunities.
Continuously and structurally improve margins.
Ensure the team meets or exceeds sales and margin targets.
Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing sales team focused on Network Connectivity sales in Ireland.
Set clear sales targets, objectives, and performance expectations for the team.
Provide coaching, guidance, and support to help team members achieve their goals.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g.
operations, marketing) to align strategies and resources.
Lead negotiations of contracts and agreements, ensuring favourable terms for the company.
Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on the performance of strategic accounts.
Provide guidance and support to team members, ensuring they meet their individual and team targets.
Foster a collaborative and results-driven culture within the Network Connectivity business in Ireland.
Work closely with the Director of Pre-Sales to ensure accurate responses are produced.
Work collaboratively with your operational colleagues to align sales, pre-sales and delivery.
Ensure accurate forecasting and reporting of revenue performance.
Communicate client feedback and insights to relevant teams for continuous improvement.
Establish key metrics to measure the progress and impact of Network Connectivity accounts in Ireland.
Performance management of the sales team in Ireland.
Qualifications and Requirements: Excellent understanding and experience of the industry and specifically the Irish Structured Cabling & Active Networking market.
Proven experience in driving growth, sales leadership and a positive track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
Experience in driving key relationships within the Structured Cabling industry.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and provide practical solutions.
Excellent leadership and people management abilities, with the capacity to influence and inspire cross-functional teams.
Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
Strong business acumen and a deep understanding of organisational dynamics.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
