We are looking to strengthen our team in Unit VP.2 "Information Technology" in Berlin-Steglitz at the earliest possible date for a IT specialist (m/f/d) Pay group 9a TVöD Permanent employment contract Full-time/part-time suitable The Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM) is a scientific and technical higher federal authority based in Berlin.
As a departmental research institution of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection, we research, test and advise on the protection of people, the environment and material goods.
Our activities in materials science, materials engineering and chemistry focus on the technical safety of products and processes.
In BAM's central IT department, we provide the IT services that BAM employees need to carry out their diverse scientific and administrative tasks.

Your tasks: Collaboration in the IT user service of central IT, i.e.
first and second level support and on-site service for central IT services, processing service requests and fault reports as well as writing entries and maintaining the knowledge base Support for scientific IT systems, i.e.
commissioning scientific IT systems (e.g.
computer systems for microscopes, testing machines, measurement and control electronics, spectrometers, sensor technology) with different operating systems (Windows, Linux, MacOS) and different scientific software Independent development of solutions to problems and rectification of the system-related and application-oriented problem/error situation in cooperation with 2nd and 3rd level support Your qualifications: Completed vocational training as an IT specialist in the field of system integration or a comparable vocational qualification Sound knowledge of current Microsoft operating systems and their connection to server systems and use in the MS Exchange environment Good knowledge of PC hardware, peripheral devices and dealing with IP networks Basic knowledge of different LINUX distributions Practical experience in dealing with ticket systems and ITIL-compliant service processes German language skills at level C2 are required Good written and spoken English skills Class B driving license is an advantage Good communication and information skills, goal-oriented and structured way of working, initiative/willingness to work under pressure, ability to work in a team and willingness to cooperate Our services: A responsible, interesting and varied job in a competent and collegial environment Further development of your personal strengths in combination with a socially balanced working environment and an extensive range of further training opportunities Open welcoming culture, a certified family-friendly working environment, regular feedback meetings and competent contact persons as well as sustainability (e.g.
