At the earliest possible date, we are looking to fill the position of Research assistant (m/f/d) for the areas of system administration/development and license management We are looking for applicants who can tackle the diverse tasks and extraordinary challenges at a university with a great deal of commitment and motivation and who can maintain an overview even in stressful situations.
Your tasks You will support the colleagues from the IT department of the Center for Knowledge Management in the provision and support of the digital teaching and learning environment for studying and teaching at HSHL.
They are responsible for the support, monitoring and demand-oriented further development of the systems and software applications (commercial and open source software) used for teaching and learning processes.
Together with colleagues, they ensure the "state of the art" status of the HSHL system landscape in the education sector through conceptual planning and implementation of new systems.
To accomplish these tasks, one focus is on the management and coordination of external, participating service companies.
Within the university, you will support and advise all users of the learning systems in second-level support.
Your area of responsibility also includes the provision of software licenses for teaching and research via the existing learning environment.
Our requirements Preferably a good university degree (Bachelor or FH diploma) in computer science or related courses.
Initial practical experience of digital application scenarios in the education sector, e.g.
through vocational training or relevant internships, is an advantage.
Technical understanding of IT system architectures and their integration is a prerequisite.
Willingness to work on IT projects and the necessary analytical thinking with a high degree of abstraction is required.
Initial experience in software deployment and license administration/management is desirable.
Written and spoken English skills are required.
General information about the position: The place of work is either Hamm or Lippstadt.
Home office arrangements are available at the university.
The permanent full-time position is to be filled at the earliest possible date.
Depending on the tasks assigned and fulfillment of the personal requirements, the position will be graded up to pay group 11 according to the collective agreement for the public service of the federal states (TV-L).
In principle, positions can also be filled on a part-time basis, provided there are no official reasons to the contrary in individual cases.
