The Application Management department operates the central client-server applications for various departments and administrative tasks at the University of Bremen.
The IT Service Center is currently being set up.
Until it is assigned to the newly created "Application Management" department, the position is located in Department 5 IT, Media Technology Infrastructure and Central Services.
Your tasks Administration, configuration and maintenance of client-server applications and services, data backup and recovery Taking on project work for various client-server applications of the university in interdisciplinary teams, cooperation with software manufacturers and implementation of the requirements developed in projects IT-technical introduction of new client-server applications: Assisting with the planning, design and integration into the existing system landscape, setting up interfaces (e.g.
to basic services and other applications), testing and commissioning the applications as well as creating and maintaining technical documentation in German Troubleshooting/problem solving, contact person for manufacturers, second-level support, requirements management, consulting and training of users in German.
What you bring with you A university degree (FH diploma/bachelor's degree) in the field of information technology with a relevant connection to the above-mentioned tasks or training as an IT specialist (f/m/d) for system integration with at least 2 years of relevant professional experience or comparable qualifications and knowledge, preferably proven by at least 3 years of relevant professional experience Experience in the operation of Windows-based client-server specialist processes on virtual environments, ideally also experience in the Linux environment (especially Debian/Ubuntu) Experience with the administration of DBMS (e.g.
MSSQL server, PostgreSQL, MySQL/MariaDB) and the operation of web servers (e.g.
Apache, IIS) Scripting knowledge, confident handling of Windows PowerShell and ideally Linux Shell (Bash) Knowledge of the design and implementation of IT projects Language skills German (C1 level) and English (B1 level European Framework of Reference) You work responsibly and independently within a team You are committed and enjoy contributing your ideas and familiarizing yourself with new topics and requirements You are service and customer-oriented, committed, resilient and flexible.
Your classification will be reviewed on the basis of your individual qualifications and knowledge and your tasks will be adjusted accordingly if necessary.
If you cannot initially be hired in pay group 11, we will offer you individual professional training to acquire the necessary qualifications to enable you to be placed in pay group 11.
