ICT Services are currently recruiting for a Junior Application Support Engineer to work for one of our clients in Dublin 24. This is a full-time permanent role with a hybrid model of work, 2-3 days onsite per week.
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Application Support Engineer with 2 years of experience. The ideal candidate will have basic SQL knowledge and scripting skills, and will play a crucial role in supporting the applications and infrastructure teams.
Key Responsibilities: Application Support: Provide first and second-line support for internal systems and applications, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring smooth operation.Incident Management: Monitor, log, and resolve incidents in a timely manner, adhering to SLAs.SQL Knowledge: Write and execute basic SQL queries to retrieve and manipulate data for reporting and troubleshooting purposes.Scripting: Develop and maintain scripts (e.g., Bash, PowerShell) to automate routine tasks and improve operational efficiency.System Monitoring: Use monitoring tools to proactively identify and resolve potential issues before they impact users.Documentation: Maintain up-to-date documentation for processes, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.Collaboration: Work closely with development, infrastructure, and business teams to ensure seamless application performance and reliability.Qualifications: Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in an application support role.Knowledge of documentation tools such as Kofax Communication Manager and XpressDox.Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of SQL and experience with scripting languages such as Bash or PowerShell.Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Customer Focus: Strong customer service orientation with a commitment to delivering high-quality support.Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively within a team and across departments.Adaptability: Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.Preferred Qualifications: Experience in the financial services industry.Familiarity with ITIL processes and incident management tools.
