Junior Butcher

We currently have a vacancy for a Junior Butcher to join our store. You will receive first-class training and development in our meat department with one of Ireland's leading retailers.
Main purpose of the role:
Ensure the Meat department operates efficiently and effectively at all times and provide our customers with excellent quality products and services.
The ideal candidate will have/be: A passion for food and the ability to inspire shoppersExcellent communication skillsPrevious customer service experience is an advantageGood knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)Numerical skillsThe ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to multitask under pressureHACCP training is beneficial but not essentialKey Responsibilities: Actively live SuperValu brand values - Genuine, Passion for Food, Vibrant, Committed, Innovative, and ImaginativeMaintain retail cuts at a high standard in accordance with customer needsDrive sales through ensuring SOPs and store standards are met on a daily basisMerchandise and present the department to the highest standardImplement planograms correctlyControl stock rotation so that quality and freshness of goods are of the highest standardManage waste and shrink in the departmentEnsure continuous improvement in the Meat Department by remaining up to date with new products and initiativesEnhance product knowledge by gaining information from a range of sources and sharing ideas, suggestions, and buildsEngage with new initiatives and embrace new ways of workingDuring your role, you may be given the opportunity to complete the 2-year Craft Butcher Apprenticeship. This means that whilst you work, you will also work towards your Certificate in Craft Butchery at QQI Level 5 Major Award.
