Job Purpose As a Junior Health and Safety Advisor, you will play a vital role in supporting companies Health and Safety Team to ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a culture of safety across all construction sites.
This entry-level role offers an excellent opportunity for growth and development within the health and safety field in the construction industry.
Key Responsibilities may include but are not limited to: Site Inspections and Audits: Assist in conducting regular site inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards and policies.
Health and Safety Compliance: Support the implementation of health and safety regulations and company policies in line with local and national legislation.
Risk Assessments: Assist in preparing and reviewing risk assessments and method statements for construction activities.
Training and Awareness: Support the delivery of health and safety inductions, toolbox talks, and training sessions for site personnel.
Incident Reporting and Investigation: Record and report near-misses, accidents, and incidents, and participate in investigations to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of site inspections, audits, and incident reports.
Prepare reports and updates for the Health and Safety Manager.
PPE Compliance: Monitor the availability and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) by employees and contractors.
Promoting Safety Culture: Encourage a proactive approach to health and safety by fostering a culture of awareness and accountability among all employees and subcontractors.
Qualifications, Key Skills & Competencies A recognised qualification in Health and Safety.
Previous experience in a construction or health and safety-related role (e.g., internship or work placement).
Strong interest in health and safety within the construction industry.
Basic understanding of health and safety regulations and construction practices.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Willingness to travel to various construction sites as required.
