Junior Mechanical Engineer

Our client is seeking Junior Mechanical Engineer The successful candidate will be reporting directly to a dedicated project manager. They will have the ability to read technical specifications for proposed site installations.

Responsibilities of the role: Review quality on site – walking down systems to ensure compliance with project team. Create and develop handover packs and test packs for Mechanical systems from the agreed systems list and create the system boundaries. Review and understand schematics, GA plans and project specifications. Carry out design reviews. Manage the systems turnover packs with the client's commission teams. Ensure quality plan is relevant and modify accordingly. Analyse supplier information for alignment with design specifications. Attend quality meetings and participate in walk downs when required. Report to the Project Manager on project progress, risks and issues. Evaluate the RFI responses to ensure that there are no engineering issues with them. Ensure site supervisors are working off the latest drawings at all times and assist in the engineering development of supervisors. Prepare all technical submittals according to specifications. Develop and monitor all P&IDs through the project such as LPHW, CHW, DWS, HVAC ensuring there are no omissions. Prepare O&M documentation for all systems. Review and answer technical queries from site in relation to specifications/drawings/materials/equipment and close out same. Work as an integral part of the commissioning process and sign-off commissioning parameters. Develop and generate all the required sign-off documentation for systems. Assist with the development of commissioning plan and implementation of same. Ensure checks are completed for compliance with latest regulations and relevant design codes. Conduct design reviews, validate equipment and systems. Analyse all design documentation and identification of any scope gaps. Requirements: Relevant 3rd level electrical qualification essential. Trade background would be advantageous. Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role is essential. Excellent IT skills required. Experience in Revit would be advantageous.
