The successful candidate will support the kitchen staff in food preparation, maintain cleanliness, and contribute to the smooth operation of our busy cafe and deli.
This role is ideal for someone with 1-2 years of experience in a similar position who is passionate about food and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities: Food Preparation:Assist chefs with chopping, slicing, dicing, and portioning ingredients for a variety of menu items.
Kitchen Maintenance:Ensure that the kitchen and deli areas are kept clean, organized, and compliant with food safety and hygiene regulations.
Dishwashing:Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment, ensuring everything is ready for use during peak hours.
Food Assembly:Help prepare and assemble sandwiches, salads, and other deli items, maintaining high standards of quality and presentation.
Inventory Management:Assist with stock rotation, monitor expiration dates, and report any low stock levels to the kitchen manager.
Service Support:Provide support during busy periods by assisting in the preparation and timely delivery of customer orders.
General Duties:Perform general kitchen tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and waste disposal to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Key Skills and Qualifications: 1-2 years of experience in a similar kitchen assistant role Basic knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices Ability to operate and maintain kitchen equipment effectively Excellent teamwork and communication skills Strong organizational and time management abilities Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Working Hours: Full-time position with flexible working hours, including weekends and holidays.
