Kitchen Catering Assistant FTC - UPMC Aut Even Location: Aut Even Hospital Job type: Permanent Overview of role: UPMC Aut Even Hospital are recruiting a Kitchen Catering Assistant on a 6-month fixed term contract.
Working within the main kitchen of the Hospital, the catering assistant will provide assistance in all aspects of preparation, cooking and storing of food for patients, staff and visitors in addition to cleaning duties associated with the provision of a high quality catering service.
Opportunities exit to build on experience and take on additional catering and food preparation responsibilities.
Working Hours Normal shift pattern is 8.30am to 5.30pm.
Weekends are worked in rotation, Saturday 8.00am to 5.00pm or Sunday 7.30am to 1.30pm.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities: To assist in preparation and cooking of food and beverages for residents, staff and visitors as directed.
To clean equipment and associated areas of work in accordance with cleaning schedules using recommended detergents, to leave kitchen and service area spotless at the end of the shift.
Adhere to good practice with regard to hygiene, health and safety and HACCP.
Working effectively within the Kitchen Team to ensure high customer service standards.
Minimising waste, improving waste reduction.
Ensuring that all food production and storage is in line with high food standards.
Assist with record keeping as directed by Catering Manager/Chef.
Work effectively as part of a team and carry out duties as directed by line Manager.
Qualifications & Experience: Previous experience working within kitchen or food preparation area is desirable.
Any food preparation or food service qualifications such as HACCP training or Cleanpass training will be positively considered.
Effective interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
