The overall purpose of the job As a Kitchen Porter, your main responsibility is maintaining a clean and safe working environment. Main Duties and Responsibilities To report for duty on time by the weekly rota. Work towards acquiring full knowledge of all food & beverage policies and procedures by kitchen hygiene standards and HACCP. Maintenance of a clean and safe working environment. Carry out all cleaning duties according to the cleaning rota. Ensuring all crockery and cooking utensils are stored on clean shelves and cupboards/drawers. Ensuring that all storage areas are maintained to a high level of cleanliness. Inform the Head Chef when cleaning equipment needs to be ordered and provide a detailed list. To become familiar with all kitchen equipment and the requirements for cleaning each item. Report any faulty, broken or damaged equipment immediately to senior management. Ensuring that all reasonable care is taken for the health and safety of yourself and others in the kitchenarea. Ensuring that a high personal hygiene and grooming standard is adhered to. Attendance of any training courses required by management. To perform all duties instructed by your supervisor/manager promptly and courteously. Maintain good stock control in the cleaning store and record stocktaking weekly. Ad hoc duties as required. The successful candidate: Ability to multi-task. Works well under pressure. Be able to communicate clearly with managers and kitchen and dining room personnel. Excellent customer service skills Team player. Qualifications and Experience Previous experience in a similar environment. Working Pattern: Monday to Friday from 9:30 am to 17:30.
