The Product Launch & Delivery Operations Manager reflects IBM's approach to bringing a product to market in a systematic way leveraging IBM's best practices and emerging new processes being rolled out across SWG. It sees the Product Manager (PM) and the multi-disciplined Product Review & Portfolio Review members as internal clients of the end-to-end launch & delivery process, with a focus on providing a streamlined way to interlock product delivery processes with core Product Management activities. The PLDOM partners with, informs, and coaches the PMs and Product Review members on what is essential for product launch, introducing logical planning activities earlier in the project cycle. In addition, the role also encompasses hosting Product Review calls and/or Portfolio Review, agenda planning, meeting and decision documentation, and audit readiness. With this guidance and support, the PMs are better able to focus on driving market share and revenue growth. The PLDM will be responsible for:
• Identifying essential delivery requirements and managing cross-discipline activities to ensure successful launch and delivery.
• Act as a focal point, which includes hosting weekly Product Review meetings, agenda planning, attendance management, meeting documentation, facilitator role, action item tracking, and fostering cross-team communication.
• Providing Product Management Discipline (PMD) guidance to the PM and broader product review for mature offerings, new offerings, and end of life/support/marketing activities - for both SaaS and On Premise product types.
• Continuously monitoring the effectiveness of the delivery processes, working with peer PL&DMs to optimize and streamline based on lessons learned and guidelines from other organizations such as Global PM, Legal, Revenue Accounting, etc.
• Actively assisting Product Managers in completing tasks related to launch and delivery such as product structure definition, part creation requests, revenue accounting checklists, announcement letters, legal terms, etc.
* Driving common activities across the portfolio of products to ensure SLAs are achieved, quarterly roadmap reviews are scheduled, checking Gartner site customer reviews, etc..
