Job Title: Lab Analyst (Casual Based Contract) Location: Cork City Contract Type: Casual Contract Salary: Competitive hourly rates, based on experience Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Lab Analyst to join our Clients water treatment laboratory team in Cork City.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the quality, accuracy, and efficiency of laboratory testing and analysis.
This position is ideal for candidates with a strong background in analytical techniques, quality control, and scientific research.
Key Responsibilities: Perform chemical, biological, or microbiological analyses of samples using industry-standard techniques (e.g., HPLC, GC, spectrophotometry, PCR).
Accurately document all analytical results and maintain clear, concise, and organized laboratory notebooks and reports.
Ensure compliance with GLP (Good Laboratory Practice) and regulatory requirements.
Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment such as chromatographs, spectrometers, or other instruments.
Troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance as needed.
Implement and monitor QC measures to ensure test accuracy.
Participate in laboratory audits and ensure compliance with company SOPs, quality standards, and industry regulations.
Follow all laboratory safety protocols, including the proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
Maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment.
Complete all required documentation, including SOPs, batch records, and compliance reports, adhering to regulatory standards.
Work closely with other lab personnel and departments to ensure smooth workflow and adherence to deadlines.
Provide support during audits and investigations as required Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or a related scientific discipline.
1-3 years of experience in a laboratory setting, preferably within the pharmaceutical, environmental, or food industries.
Hands-on experience with analytical instruments such as HPLC, GC, and spectrophotometry.
Familiarity with GLP, GMP, or ISO 17025 standards.
Experience in water treatment testing facilities or molecular techniques (e.g., PCR).
Previous experience in a regulated environment (e.g., pharmaceutical, healthcare, food safety).
Familiarity with LIMS (Laboratory Information Management Systems).
