This Lab Assistant will work on site at our GMP Laboratory facility in Athlone as part of our Lab Support team.Discover Impactful Work: The role of a Lab Assistant is to work with various teams within the department (metrology, sample entry, stability, etc.)
and assists in support of laboratory systems and functions.
Supports daily lab operations and may provide support to team leads.
A day in the Life Daily and weekly duties include the following:Glassware management (Cleaning, inspection, stocking and ordering of Laboratory glassware).Chemical inventory (Ordering of chemicals, reagents and consumables)Chemical waste management5S responsibilities, Audit prep and Kaizen eventsPPI ProjectsWaste disposalLab coat managementStock inventory managementInterdepartmental communicationData EntryAudit and Client Visit PrepOther duties/projects assigned by supervisor/managerCISPro management of goods receivedBuddy program / NEOP tourGeneral lab dutiesEnsuring safety stations are adequately stocked spill kits and Diphoterine stationsInvolved in ERT and First AidMonitoring safety in the labs and reporting near missesCrossed trained to provide cover and support to other depts in Lab SupportServe as a point of contact for analyst queries and requestsEducation and ExperienceLeaving Certificate or 3rd level related course/certificateExperience within a regulated GMP environment is beneficialExperience within a manufacturing /process driven environment adhering to SOPs and proceduresLooking to start a career in a Pharmaceutical environment – this may be the position for you?Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Ability to adhere to laboratory policies and standard operating proceduresGood written and oral communication skills Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Satisfactory skills in Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPointAbility to work in a collaborative team environment Basic knowledge of technical/scientific terminolgy, health and safety standards and inventory managementAbility to adapt to new work procedures and environments Solid problem solving / troubleshooting abilitiesAbility to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environmentWork Environment Thermo Fisher Scientific values the health and wellbeing of our employees.
