MBio is a business unit of Monaghan Mushrooms which houses the innovation capability of Group.
The mushroom is a bio-economy superhero and Monaghan firmly positions sustainability and climate impact as a strategic focus for the Group.
Agronomy and Analytical Sciences are fundamental supporting disciplines of MBios innovation and we are looking for abright minded, pro-active person to join our teamto support our research and analytical programme, to support trial activities.
Main Duties As nature never stops flexibility will be an important feature of this role, key responsibilities include: Production of chemical and biological solutions; Maintenance of inventory of chemical and biological solutions Compliance- Maintain laboratory documentation in accordance to required scientific, regulatory and intellectual property requirements.
Continuous Improvement- developing recommendations for the improvement efficiencies of current processes.
Quality- QC checks and record keeping Sampling Collection of mushroom and compost samples from trials Sample Analysis-analytical / quality analysis of compost and other environmental matrices Data Entry To capture data onto laboratory data recording systems Communication- Actively communicate and productively and collaboratively interact within and between teams.

Competencies to perform the role Communication: Must have excellent interpersonal and presentation skills; Can do attitude: Must have a can do entrepreneurial attitude with a focus on doing the right stuff and getting stuff done!
Growth: A thirst to learn, grow and keep in touch with innovation within the wider industry; Organisation: Highly efficient administration, detail focussed and exacting on time.
Research standards: conduct research according to the general principles of good research based on honesty and cooperation.
Experience and Qualifications Possess a FETAC level 5 qualification (or equivalent), such as leaving certificate in the sciences (Mandatory).
No experience is necessary, but some experience of working in a laboratory environment is desirable Strong communication and interpersonal skill Other Significant Role Requirements: TheLaboratory Technicianis expected to be motivated, collaborative, driven, goal orientated and systematic / well organised.
TheLaboratory Technicianmust be flexible in terms of working hours to ensure deliverables are achieved on time.
It is required that aLaboratory Technicianholds a driving license to travel as role will include sampling and processing in different locations.
