About the role: We are looking to hire a Lead Automation Engineer to join the Automation Team supporting our Multinational API & Biotech Client based in Cork. The selected candidate will be involved in leading a team that focuses on the design, configuration, implementation, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting and change control for this client. The successful candidate would be required to have a minimum of 7 years experience in the Pharmaceutical and/or Biotechnology sectors and must have previous DCS experience. GDP/CSV mindset is essential.
Requirements: Proven experience as an Automation Engineer with increased levels of responsibility. Experience designing, implementing and supporting automation solutions for clients in the Pharmaceutical and/or Biotechnology industries. Provide automation scopes and estimates for planning automation projects. Take a lead role in the delivery of DCS projects from planning through to design implementation testing and closeout. Lead teams as required to deliver project scopes. Support the Automation Projects Manager in maintenance and control of project schedules, resourcing and stakeholder communications. To define the testing requirements and supervise the internal testing to the agreed procedures. Good knowledge of API and/or Biotech manufacturing, GAMP lifecycle and quality management processes employed in the pharmaceutical sector. Experience with DCS Batch software design with lead roles on SI or site-based projects. Good multi-tasking, analytical & problem-solving skills. Excellent communication skills to engage with management and engineering functions. Leadership abilities, works well in a team environment. Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent in Chemical, Electrical or Bio-Process Engineering, or related field. 7+ years' experience as an Automation Engineer/Control Systems Engineer or Software Engineer or related occupation.
