Position Description In ESB's new Brighter Future Strategy, there is a key focus on ESB becoming a more data-driven company. The successful candidate will operate as a Lead Data Analyst for eCars in Data Analytics with a strong understanding of the technology platforms that support ESB eCars.
You will be expected to influence and lead the eCars business team members and play a significant part in the strategic direction of their analytics journey, involving both external stakeholders supporting the Driivz system and the internal eCars business team.
You will need to manage a cross-functional team of data analysts, data engineers, and data scientists driving the delivery of analytics solutions to the ESB eCars business.
Key Responsibilities As the Lead Data Analyst for eCars, your main responsibilities would include:
Acting as a central point of contact for Analytics in the eCars business.Providing senior subject matter expertise (SME) and strategic support for Analytics in ESB eCars, advising senior stakeholders on data-driven decision-making and analytics best practices.Developing and maintaining strong relationships with senior stakeholders within the ESB eCars business, eCars IT and Digital Team, and external partners such as Driivz, ensuring clear communication and alignment on project goals.Working with the business to prioritise use cases, managing project delivery and troubleshooting issues with the data pipeline.Managing the delivery of project milestones and deliverables and delivering an outcome that can achieve the benefits defined in the Business Case, at the appropriate level of quality.Ensuring required resources are identified and available to support the delivery of priority use cases, as required.Acting as an escalation point for all data related issues within the eCars business.Providing input into the future strategic development of Analytics in eCars including building the roadmap for Analytics in eCars, including the development of an eCars data model and providing thought leadership and direction on the technical landscape.Providing guidance and mentoring to the team.Building and maintaining high-quality data solutions to ensure there are no data breaches or incidents related to data quality.Understanding the eCars business and how Analytics can support their objectives.Working as part of the Customer Solutions Analytics Leadership Team, providing direction and feedback on how the wider team work together.Continuously seeking service improvements both for eCars and for Analytics generally.Experience & Qualifications Minimum of 5+ years' relevant experience.A third-level qualification in Computer Science / Statistics / Maths / Data Analytics or equivalent work experience.A strong or expert understanding of data structures, structured query language (SQL), and how to extract, transform and load data from varied data sources.Advanced visualisation skills, dashboard design, and use of storytelling methods using Power BI or similar business intelligence tools.Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills combined with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Innovative in your approach and be able to demonstrate your ability to actively contribute to a team that delivers results.Postgraduate in Data Science / Data Analytics / Maths / Computer Science or similar.Knowledge of structured project management techniques, principles, and methodologies e.g., PRINCE certification or industry equivalent.An understanding of software development lifecycles, including solution design, development and release management.Knowledge of industry-standard testing best practices for software release management including tools and technologies.Knowledge of the electricity vehicle charging industry in Ireland and UK.Exposure to Microsoft Azure for data management, or similar cloud computing platforms.Location This position will be based in Swift Square, Santry.

The successful candidate may work flexibly within their jurisdiction with attendance at the workplace for in-person collaboration on at least one anchor day per week. All smart working arrangements are subject to manager approval and ongoing review, based on the operational requirements of the role, the team, and the individual.
Reporting To The successful candidate will report to the Customer Solutions Analytics Manager.
