Job Title: Lead Electrical Engineer Contract Length: 12 Months (Renewable) Location: Hybrid (remote working with monthly visits to office in Dublin) Daily Rate: up to €875 per day DOE (Inside IR35) Start Date: ASAP About Codling Wind Park Codling Wind Park is Ireland's largest offshore wind project, located in the Irish Sea, 13-22 km off the Wicklow coast.
This 50:50 joint venture between EDF Renewables and Fred.
Olsen Seawind will generate up to 1,300 MW, powering 1.2 million homes and cutting 2 million tonnes of carbon emissions annually.
The project begins construction in 2026 and will provide 1,000 construction jobs and 75 permanent roles.
Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineering Coordinator to lead the electrical design across the Codling Wind Park project, ensuring consistency, quality, and risk management from turbine to grid connection.
This pivotal role will oversee both onshore and offshore electrical systems, working closely with internal teams, contractors, and external consultants to ensure the project's success.
Key Responsibilities Coordinate electrical design for onshore cables, substations, SCADA systems, offshore turbines, inter-array cables, and export cables Ensure safe, efficient, and compliant system designs adhering to EirGrid standards Lead design development, managing CAPEX/OPEX estimates, project risk, and technical solutions to optimize performance Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure a seamless design process Conduct quality checks on all electrical documents and lead technical reviews and risk assessments Provide leadership within the electrical engineering teamPerson Specification Proven experience in electrical system design for offshore wind projects Strong knowledge of protection and control systems, cable design, and installation techniques Skilled in managing EPCI contractors to meet time, cost, and quality targets Degree in electrical engineering or a related field Excellent project management, communication, and interpersonal skills If interested please apply here and we'll be in touch right away.
