Are you an experienced Infrastructure/Platform Architect looking for an exciting new opportunity? Our client, a global organisation, is seeking a talented and skilled individual to join their Infrastructure Design Engineering team for a period of 12 months. If you have a passion for solving complex problems, possess expertise in Load Balancers and infrastructure design, and are eager to contribute to the definition of standards and best practices, then this role is perfect for you! This contract requires hybrid working with some onsite work each week in Dublin.
As part of our client's Infrastructure Design team, you will play a crucial role in analysing and designing the infrastructure framework to meet the needs of various applications, platforms, and systems. You will collaborate closely with application teams and other critical stakeholders to ensure that the completed infrastructure and application architecture align with our client's security, scalability, reliability, and availability standards. You will have the opportunity to shape the footprint of systems and lead our client in defining industry-leading standards and best practices.
In this role, your major accountabilities will include: Gathering requirements, conducting infrastructural analysis, and producing robust designs that adhere to our client's approved technologies and policies.Collaborating with peers, engineers, application teams, and users to ensure that all high-level requirements are met.Generating technical architecture documents, logical flows, and models to keep stakeholders up to date and in agreement on the architecture and infrastructure layout.Implementing, managing, and supporting application infrastructure components using current standards and best practices.Resolving internet architectural and operational problems impacting infrastructure and product availability and performance globally.Leading and collaborating on the definition of new standards.Researching and evaluating new technology for possible deployment in our client's internet infrastructure.Assuming lead and total accountability for ongoing regional projects as assigned.Contributing to incident/problem diagnosis and root cause analysis.Providing input into performance tuning, capacity planning, and configuration management. In addition to the exciting projects and responsibilities, this role will expose you to systems architecture, new technologies, industry standards, and best practices. You will also have the opportunity to participate in global technology initiatives and engage with business resource groups and global communities.
To be successful in this role, you should possess advanced knowledge of web application architecture, F5 load balancers, web application firewalls, network and operating system principles, middleware technologies, database technologies, cloud technologies, and non-functional requirements. Proficiency in root cause analysis and troubleshooting, as well as knowledge of Role Based Access Control, Authentication, Authorisation mechanisms, Zero Trust Architecture principles, network micro-segmentation, YAML based deployments, On-Prem deployments, and infrastructure architecture, would be highly beneficial.
