What you'll be doing… Verizon Connect provides GPS-enabled fleet management and tracking products that help businesses reduce fleet costs, increase productivity and improve customer satisfaction. Our best-in-class solutions deliver a comprehensive set of capabilities including real time mapping, detailed activity reports, email alerts and more – all delivered through an easy-to-use web based interface.
We have an immediate need for a Lead Product Owner to lead product team members in the development of valuable additions to our growing suite of products. This is a highly impactful role within the Verizon Connect Product Team. You will be responsible for managing a team in the definition of the product requirements and engaging with leadership teams to ensure the success of our Fleet Management products. You will need to be self-directed and collaborative and cultivate relationships with teams & partners.
Detailed responsibilities will include: Lead, manage and mentor a team of Product Owners to effectively deliver all initiatives within Product Line.Clearly communicate the roadmap, product plans, project status updates and timelines to internal stakeholder teams to both influence and ensure alignment and cross-functional readiness.Effectively communicate at all levels of management within the organisation with clear, assertive and decisive communication using rationale to establish leadership buy in.Ensure team is clear on the company strategy and business priorities and how their work supports it.Define data analysis strategy required to support Product Line, and factor research & data into decision making and recommendations.Provide direction to Product Owners to continuously evolve their understanding of the market, customer & success metrics, and guide their engagement with customers.Ensure team consistently measure quality and impact of the product/features delivered through defined metrics and are enabled to analyse and assess initiative success to inform future delivery.Drive initiatives to maintain competitive intelligence as well as continuously improve product processes within their Product Line, and ensure team adoption.Outline process to team for creation of stories and other artifacts to ensure consistent high quality deliverables.Closely collaborate and establish alignment with cross-functional Leadership on resource planning and quality.Partner effectively with Product, UX, and Engineering Leadership, as well as customer facing teams and customers to uncover new insights that help drive product strategy.Ensures team provides inputs necessary to support the strategic roadmap process.Ensure GTM needs are prioritised and met for all projects under remit.Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and changing environment.Assist with other Product Management responsibilities as needed.What we're looking for... You'll need to have: Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience.A number of years experience as a Senior Product Owner in a technical environment with experience in a leadership position.Experience operating in an Agile & Lean/Kanban product dev environment, interacting with both hardware and software development processes.Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, and writing skills, with demonstrated leadership abilities.Hard working self-starter attitude capable of learning quickly with a proven ability to manage their own time and workload and that of their team effectively.Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.Even better if you have... Experience in managing and building consumer electronic hardware/devices.Experience in creating superior user experiences for Mobile & Web-based products.Experience working with OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers).Experience working with Telematics.Experience of API (Application programming interface) or microservice specification.Experience performing data queries in databases, validating data quality.Experience working with SQL, JSON and/or XML.Experience of working in an SOA environment (Service-oriented architecture).Basic understanding of modern software development technologies and languages.Experience working in Wiki & JIRA.Hold an advanced engineering degree (EE, CS, ME, similar) w/high technical aptitude or extensive practical experience working with IoT solutions.If Verizon and this role sound like a fit for you, we encourage you to apply even if you don't meet every "even better" qualification listed above.
