Summary of the roleWorking as part of the EMEA Help Desk/On-Site Support team provide on-site and remote IT support for the Nordson Boyle and Galway facilities in Ireland.
Also work as part of the UK/Ireland sub-team to provide remote IT support for the UK facilities and other EMEA Nordson locations when needed.As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment, where your ideas and contributions will be valued and respected.Role and ResponsibilitiesProvide incident and problem resolution for all users with hardware, software and application problems.Respond to requests for technical assistance in person, via phone, electronically.Advise user/s on appropriate action/s.Follow standardized operating procedures.Log all help desk interactions.Redirect problems to appropriate resources.Identify and when needed escalate situations requiring urgent attention.Stay current with system information, changes and updates.Create knowledge articles and documentation as appropriate.Work with external vendors on IT related projects and issues as needed.Work with and be a part of our specialist IT Service Line Teams.Skills and QualificationsUniversity degree in the field of computer science and/or 6 plus years related work experienceAdditional experience may be a substitute for education.Effective English language oral and written communication skills, learning skills, customer service orientation, problem analysis, problem-solving, adaptability, planning and organizing, attention to detail, participate in continuous improvement, stress tolerance.Basic understanding of scripting technologies such as Office macros, PowerShell, Windows Scripting Host.TravelBe able to use own vehicle to visit the Galway location on a regular basis, typically 1 or 2 times per month (mileage paid at Ireland Civil Service Rates).Occasional travel to other EMEA locations, for example in-person team meetings and projects.BenefitsWe offer a flexible work schedule, a comprehensive benefits package, and opportunities for growth and development.
