Liaison Nurse Role Infection Prevention

Cpl Healthcare are currently looking to recruit an experienced Liaison Nurse in Infection Prevention for a private clinic in South Dublin.

The successful candidate will coordinate the hospital-wide infection prevention control programme to ensure effective measures are developed, implemented, and maintained to identify, prevent, and control infections acquired in the hospital or brought into the hospital from the community. This includes the development and implementation of programmes to identify, track, and trend any organisation-wide issues that could put patients, visitors, hospital, and medical staff at risk.

The post holder is responsible for providing leadership and direction for all staff in relation to infection prevention and control initiatives. She/he is expected to participate in appropriate education and research requirements.

The post holder will work in collaboration with various specialist and professional teams within the Hospital regarding infection prevention and control.

Skills & Experience Requirements: Registered Nurse/Midwife with current NMBI registration to practice. Have a level 8 post-registration National Qualifications Authority of Ireland major academic award (or equivalent) relevant to the specialist area of Infection Prevention Control nursing or other clinically related qualification specific to the area of infection prevention control. Minimum 5 years of post-registration experience with 2 years within infection prevention and control. Evidence of the ability to critically appraise and utilise research to maintain and improve patient care. Excellent written and verbal skills – Must be fluent in English. Ability to build good relationships with patients, relatives, visitors, and colleagues by developing rapport, communicating clearly and accurately, active listening, and the ability to empathise. The post-holder must have the ability to refer to senior staff as required. Ability to recognise and diffuse potentially difficult situations in relation to patients, carers, or members of the multidisciplinary team. Organisational skills for coordination and provision of care needs of patients using initiative, time management, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work as part of a team. Ability to provide verbal and generate computer-written reports on the patient's condition for nurses and professionally qualified workers. Demonstrate teaching and presentation skills to enable active participation as a mentor for students and to promote an effective learning environment. For further details, please contact me at:
