Litigations Claims Handler This job involves the handling of Motor Injury and Damage litigated claims by using agreed claims processes, technical skill & experience to achieve settlement in line with business objectives.
You will spend most of your time reviewing and assessing claims, considering quantum & liability aspects, liaising with customers - internal colleagues and our service providers (Investigators & Solicitors).
You will liaise directly with our Solicitor Panel both on individual cases & in order to contribute to the overall Litigation Strategy for RSA Claims.
This job will include the oversight of a portfolio of litigated Motor Injury and Damage claims within a set case management authority level.
You will use agreed claims processes to achieve successful outcomes in line with the business objectives for the Injury & Liability Claims team.
You will spend the majority of your time reviewing and assessing claims, liaising with Solicitors & other experts in order to carry out detailed inquiries & then applying necessary skill & knowledge to progress these cases to a successful conclusion.
You will provide ongoing support, advice and guidance to the operational teams, helping to refine Best Practice handling in all Injury teams in RSA.
You will provide support, advice and guidance to Customers & other teams and contribute to policy and product development.
You will be mostly desk-based dealing with Solicitors, service providers & customers on a one to one basis, although you will also work with other colleagues and be part of a litigation team.
You will have strong communication, negotiation, and organisation skills.
Key Responsibilities?: ?? Litigated cases at District and Circuit Court level Reviewing Motor injury and Damage claims and achieving optimum settlement, within designated personal authority level, in line with established standards, procedures and guidance provided.
Assessing claims against relevant criteria and experience to identify actual or potential issues and involving others as appropriate in order to minimise leakage and protect the interests of the business.
Managing customer interactions in an efficient, courteous and timely manner in order to deliver high standards of customer satisfaction.
Conducting regular file reviews of litigated cases with our Solicitor Panel in order to ensure adequate reserve provision & to manage cases towards conclusion.
Undertaking Claims Reviews with Brokers & Policyholders, ensuring you represent RSA in a professional & competent manner & can articulate a summary of the claim status.
Helping and contributing towards the development of less experienced colleagues in Injury & Liability Claims by providing training & feedback in order to raise standards and expertise across the teams.
Leading, contributing to and co-operating with Claim audits and reviews as required in order to support and enable the maintenance of an effective control environment.
Providing proactive advice and guidance on the development of new and improved policy wordings to ensure policy documentation reflects claims experience and agreed risk appetite.
Contributing to the identification of and research into new product and proposition development opportunities to ensure the claims components are feasible and appropriate to the target customer.
Attribute and Qualifications? Completed CIP (Certified Insurance Practitioner) & working towards ACII 3- 4 years experiences withing in Claims with experiences in Injury & Liability Role based from Galway office working hybrid Internal and external networking experience within the Technical community and beyond.
In-depth experience of at least one line of business across the full width of customers, propositions, and risk scenarios.
Regulatory Requirements: APA/CIP qualification CIP/APA qualified and must maintain CPD requirements.
This role is a "controlled function" as defined by the Central Bank Reform Act 2010 Regulations 2011.
