Due to continued growth, they're looking for a dynamic Maintenance and Garage Manager to join the team.
This role requires a dynamic individual with strong leadership abilities and a passion for optimising processes related to vehicle maintenance, compliance, and fleet utilisation.
Key Responsibilities: Oversee vehicle specification and maintenance while ensuring alignment with commercial, health, safety, and operational objectives.
Manage internal and external service and maintenance resources to deliver efficient, high-quality, and cost-effective vehicle supply, repair, and upkeep for the fleet.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimise vehicle availability.
Analyse financial and operational performance, managing assets and staff to maintain profitability and deliver excellent customer service.
Ensure the garage is equipped with appropriate diagnostic tools for timely problem resolution.
Monitor and utilise the fleet management system to ensure accuracy in job cards, purchase orders, and compliance records, addressing and resolving driver-reported issues.
Ensure sufficient staffing in the garage, provide training for mechanics, and oversee the induction of third-party contractors.
Establish and oversee a spare parts management system to maintain appropriate stock levels.
Uphold high standards of cleanliness and organisation in the workshop.
Conduct risk assessments for maintenance activities, implementing safety measures and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Actively manage business KPIs, set budgets, and maximise returns on assets while ensuring exceptional service delivery.
Perform spot checks on vehicles to ensure roadworthiness and compliance with legal standards, resolving any issues promptly.
Embed health, safety, and compliance in all fleet maintenance operations, adhering to all legislative requirements.
What They're Looking For: Relevant Technical Qualification is essential.
HGV Experience Management experience of a service organisation fleet and/or garage.
Knowledge of existing and impending environmental and Health & Safety legislation/environment.
Knowledge of workshop procedures & CVRT, Loler, 13-week inspection testing regime and processes.
Experience of managing in a labour intensive, multi-shift environment
