Job DescriptionOur client is Ireland's leading water and wastewater contractor.
They design, construct, operate and maintain water and wastewater treatment plants.Provide expertise on all electrical systems, and problem solving/fault finding of electricalsystems & equipment throughout the site to secure the continuous operation of site.Implement and promote best practice Health & Safety standards and practicesEnsure that all company safety procedures are correctly implemented e.g.
isolation permits,excavation permits risk assessments etc.Report all safety issues/concerns promptly to superiorsFamiliarity with national wiring regulations and coordinating with the HSEQ manager on theimplementation of best practice electrical safety policiesTroubleshoot and repair electrical components, panels and systemsInstall and maintain industrial communication systems, heavy duty electrical equipmentPerform quality testing and inspectionsWire up, gland, terminate pumps, motors, VSDs, circuit boards and panels, install newconduits, trays, ladder and pull new cables where necessaryRecording of all activities on CMMSProvide out of hours support to plant operations during plant start-up, running and shutdownactivitiesParticipate in on-call rotaFollow all health and safety rules and regulations.
Keep work area clean, safe and orderly.Perform other duties as deemed necessary by the Maintenance Engineer.The position of Maintenance Electrician requires flexibility and availability as demanded by theneeds of a continuous plant and process.
You will be part of an on-call system providingelectrical cover and as a result, after-hours and weekend interaction with the plant will be aroutine aspect of the job.Awareness of national and industrial technical standards and regulationsBe a good team player and be analytically minded in linking financial performance tooperational efficiency.Be able to work in a very fast paced environment where priorities may change regularlyWilling to perform physically demanding tasks such as climbing ladders, working at heightsand/or in confined spacesProblem solving and fault finding with MV/LV AC and LC DC switchgear and distributionsystems.Ensure that all electrical systems are maintained in good and safe conditionManagement of preventative maintenance plan on electrical equipment and systems wherepossible, including thermography, instrument calibration etc.Process/Equipment troubleshooting & failure analysisDeliver innovative technical solutions to the plantWork with other electricians and mechanical fitters as teamRequirements5 years relevant electrical experience in a heavy industrial environmentElectrical National Craft Certificate essential or its UK equivalent.Very strong fault diagnosis & solving experienceAbility to read complex electrical drawings and P&IDsSpecific experience with Rockwell / Allen Bradley Control Systems and PLCs, Endress andHauser and ABB instrumentation, Auma actuators is advantageous.Knowledge and experience of ATEX zoned areas is also advantageousPackageSalary €50k-€55k plus overtime depending on experience.
Performance related bonus of up to 5% of salary.
Working hours are 7.30 am to 4 pm Monday-Thursday, 7.30 am to 3 pm on Friday.
