Your new company The services of Hays have been retained by our client, an established Housing Association based in Belfast, to recruit a Maintenance Officer on a fixed-term basis for a period of 12 months.
Your new role You will ensure the effective and efficient delivery of an efficient property management operation, which will include the delivery of response maintenance service, overseeing the management of aids and adaptations, as well as servicing and cyclical / planned maintenance schemes.This will include:Responding directly to tenant queries regarding maintenance requests and processing requests in accordance with association's policy and procedures.Undertaking detailed inspections of void properties, bringing them back to a lettable standard within agreed timeframes.Monitoring contractor performance ensuring conditions of contracts are complied with.Taking responsibility for the maintenance process, escalating serious matters or matters requiring legal action to the Maintenance Manager.Maintaining an effective filing and computerised diary system in respect of housing maintenance issues, updating property information and maintenance activity as appropriate.
What you'll need to succeed To be considered for this position, you must possess:A minimum of 2 A Levels or equivalent.A minimum of 1-years' experience within the last 5 years in a maintenance service delivery role.A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, including Word, Excel and Outlook.A good understanding of the role and responsibilities of a maintenance officer.Knowledge of property maintenance management practices.Experience of monitoring performance.General awareness of health and safety regulations (including fire safety).
