As a Maintenance Team Lead, you'll play an important role in providing leadership and developing a team of maintenance and facility technicians/engineers at the Waterford site.
Job Summary: The Maintenance Team Lead will be responsible for maintenance activities within GMP and non-GMP areas. The person will liaise closely with the Engineering, Manufacturing & Quality teams to ensure maximum equipment and systems reliability & performance is achieved, to the highest quality standards, while supporting the policies, goals and objectives of the company. The Maintenance Team Lead will report directly to the Associate Director of Engineering.
Responsibilities:
Health, Safety and the Environment
• Comply at all times with the Health, Safety and Environmental policy and the associated procedure and encourage others on the team to do the same.
• Continuously plan and promote a positive safety culture by challenging the team to prioritize safety in everything that is done.
Quality Compliance
• Ensure all team's work is carried out, and is in compliance with the required standards, conforming to company, cGMP, SOP's and regulatory guidelines.
• Take ownership of quality compliance in all the team's activities.
Maintenance and Facilities Engineering (part of Manufacturing Operations)
• To support and guide the team in the effective maintenance and continuous improvements of production, utility (Clean and Black) equipment/systems and site facilities.
• To support and guide the team in the development of new and update to existing SOPs & Work Instructions.
• Develop close relationships with the team members through regular one-to-one meetings and effective performance management.
• Ensure training needs and training compliance of the technical team is actively managed.
• To lead the Daily Tier 1 meetings, prioritize activities and report up to the Tier 2 daily meeting.
• Identify and make recommendations for improvements as leader of the team within or outside the department in order to ensure continuous improvement.
• Support Project delivery as needed through procedure development, FAT, SAT and validation of production and utility equipment/systems.
• Act as a gatekeeper during project gate reviews to ensure the handover of drawings and documents reflect the final As-Built state.
• Ensure new assets are registered on the site CMMS system (PEMAC) and integrated into the Asset Care Schedule of PM and Calibration Routines.
• Lead Root Cause Investigations and document findings for future reference and retrieval.
• Champion a data-driven approach to asset performance management, identify top l osses (bad actors) and develop Uptime improvement plans.
• Ensure equipment/system KPI metrics are effectively recorded and communicated to required stakeholders.
• Lead the equipment lifecycle process thus mitigating the obsolescence risk to the site utility and production systems.
• Promote a Right First Time (RFT) approach and ensure the team's Safety, Quality and Engineering System Metrics meet site targets.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
• Minimum Level 7 Engineering degree in Mechanical or Electrical or equivalent training/experience.
• Minimum 10+ years' experience within the Pharma, Biopharma sector or Med Device.
• 3 – 5 years in a leadership/coordinator role.
• Demonstrative experience of ambition and skillset to lead a team in a dynamic environment.
• Experience and demonstration of skill in leading a team are essential.
• Experience working in a cGMP/FDA/HPRA-regulated environment is essential as well as hands-on experience in maintaining production and utility equipment/systems.
• Trades qualification an advantage.
• Knowledge of Automation and Electrical Systems an advantage.
• Project management experience and/or certification an advantage.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
