Maintenance Technician

We're working with leading waste management company with a focus on sustainability and efficiency who offer services tailored to both residential and commercial customers.
Due to continued growth, they're looking for a Maintenance Technician to join the team.
The successful candidate will support the efficient operation of the Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) by performing maintenance on all equipment, machinery, and infrastructure within the facility.
This role is critical for ensuring maximum equipment uptime and safe, efficient operations within the company.
Key Responsibilities: Carry out routine preventive maintenance on all plant machinery and equipment to ensure peak performance and minimise downtime.
Undertake repairs on mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems as required, responding swiftly to any equipment malfunctions.
Conduct regular inspections of machinery to detect potential issues or wear, troubleshoot problems, and apply corrective measures.
Assist in diagnosing and resolving equipment faults to ensure smooth and uninterrupted facility operations.
Ensure all tasks are performed in strict compliance with Health & Safety regulations and company policies.
Attend safety training sessions and adhere to safe work practices, including lock-out/tag-out procedures, conducting risk assessments, and reporting incidents.
Maintain accurate and organised records of parts used, repairs undertaken, and any additional maintenance requirements.
Monitor and manage spare parts inventory, ensuring adequate stock levels to minimise equipment downtime.
Communicate with suppliers to source quality parts and materials efficiently and within required timeframes.
Support a culture of continuous improvement by identifying ways to enhance equipment performance and streamline maintenance processes.
Participate in team meetings and maintenance planning discussions to share insights and contribute to operational improvements.
Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager and team members to meet all operational demands.
What They're Looking For: Relevant technical qualification or apprenticeship in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance.
Proven experience in a maintenance technician role, ideally within a production or waste management facility.
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, with a working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Strong understanding of Health & Safety protocols and commitment to safe working practices.
Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
This is a site-based role with required flexibility for occasional shift work or weekend hours.
