Reporting to the Senior Manager, EMEA Accounting, we are currently seeking an Accounting Manager to support our Compensation and Benefits Controllership team. This position is based in Dublin, with a functional link to the Global Process Owner.
The Manager will need to have a global attitude, strong technical accounting background and understanding of particular country, regional and local differences and requirements, while seeking to drive consistency with global approaches and processes. This role will help strengthen our technical accounting and compliance environment by partnering with employee benefits teams around the world to help identify compliance obligations and potential gaps, and to craft compliant business processes consistent with our focus on a world class employee experience. The Manager will need to be comfortable continuously flexing in the face of the constantly changing external and internal environment, running with the pace of the business and delivering on multiple simultaneous priorities.
The Manager will have subject matter expertise in EMEA benefits-related accounting and compliance and will have a passion for delving into the complexities of compliance requirements, helping distill them into layperson's terms, and translating them into business process and system requirements. They will drive projects from start to finish, working collaboratively within a small team and with a vast array of business partners across the globe.
What You Will Do: Provide technical accounting advisory to support US GAAP and local GAAP compliance. Particularly related to:Pension Accounting (ASC 712/715)Employee Exits, (ASC 712, 420)Litigation/Contingency (ASC 420)Stock Based Compensation (ASC 718)Captive Insurance (IFRS 17,(ASU 2018-12))Deeply partner with Employee Success, Finance, Payroll, Business Technology and other legal and compliance teams to understand compliance and benefits requirements, assess gaps, align on priorities, design end to end controls, enable those impacted, and guide in the documentation of mitigation effortsIdentify accounting-related compliance gaps in existing processes and communicate business impactIdentify emerging accounting-related benefits and compliance requirements and prioritize them in coordination with the business and legal partnersChampion compliance by design into all new projects, initiatives and systemsDrive to continuously improve the automation of accounting and reporting processes; rethink the status quo for continuous improvement and gaining efficienciesPropose and implement best practices that simplify, standardize and scale how we work; roll out global processes and systems in the region, justify and detail regional/local exceptions due to local requirementsEnsure SOX compliance; enforce and recommend improvements to company policies, internal controls, systems and processes; assist in documentation, testing and monitoring of internal controlsMonitor while working with external advisory firms and internal collaborators to detail and ensure global/local benefits and employees' taxation complianceDrive engagements with global/regional accounting and cross functionallyAd-hoc global or regional finance projects as necessaryManage escalations of outsourced service providers; provide feedback & trainings as needed to improve work quality & efficienciesParticipate in various organization/department wide initiatives that promote team cultureWho You Are: At least eight years of experience in the field of Pensions & Benefits compliance, or accounting operations with global company (preferably technology or related industry) Big 4 experience a plusBachelors, or equivalent, in Accounting or Finance or related finance field degree, ACA preferredExperience with major ERP system required (e.g Oracle, Workday) preferredStrong communication, collaboration and teamwork skills across all levelsProven critical thinking capabilityProcess re-engineering involvement and/or process efficiency focusStrong analytical skills and experience using data analytics tools (e.g. Tableau)Ability to identify and drive business accounting process improvementWork experience in managing outsourcing services would also be an advantageWhere You Will Be: You will be based in the Dublin OfficeIf you require assistance due to a disability applying for open positions please submit a request via this Accommodations Request Form.
