Responsibilities Manage a team or act as a senior technical lead within a team responsible for providing funds operations services, ensuring delivery of service outcomes and quality standards.Deliver all services by the ILIM Treasury Team in an efficient and controlled manner.Work with the management team in Securities Servicing to input and contribute to the development of the area.Report to the Senior Manager Asset Servicing.Team BackgroundThe Treasury Team, together with the Settlements Team, makes up ILIM Trade Support and forms part of Asset Servicing within ILIM BTS.This team has responsibility for post-trade execution services and facilitates clients in meeting their regulatory responsibilities under EMIR.The role has 4 direct reports, one of whom shares their time with the Settlements Team.What you will help us to achieveManage a team responsible for providing funds-related services and/or strategic projects. Plan and agree objectives, service levels, production schedules, and priorities with the team. Ensure delivery of service outcomes and quality standards.Manage resources within the team to meet significant peaks and troughs of activity while maintaining excellent service outcomes.Ensure controls are in place to manage operational risks inherent in your area.Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure clients receive a high standard of service.Provide leadership and talent management. Lead, develop, and motivate team members. Set goals and direction for team members and monitor performance.Work closely with the team to regularly review systems, processes, and procedures, the quality of output, activity levels, and new activities. Drive the ongoing development of automation, new systems, and processes.Manage overall operational team targets, ensuring that overall progress against agreed SLA targets is met, taking mitigated action where deviations are escalated.Perform any other duties as assigned by your manager.More specific responsibilities will includeManaging a team responsible for trade matching and settlement concerning cash and money market instruments.Ensuring trades and payments are reflected accurately on ILIM systems for accounting and investment Book of records.Ensuring ILIM's daily cash flow obligations are met without loss or penalty.Overseeing all active collateral management processes on behalf of ILIM clients.Onboarding activities, including new and ongoing due diligence in respect to trading facilities, and sharing responsibilities with the Settlements Team Manager for non-BAU Trade Support related onboarding activities.Driving the ongoing development of our system capabilities and streamlining existing operational processes.People management including setting annual objectives, performance appraisals, career pathways discussions, and regular team meetings.Keeping abreast of regulatory, market, and industry developments and assessing the implications for the team's activities.Ensuring appropriate controls are in place and adhered to mitigate operational risks inherent with activities carried out by the team.Working closely with the Settlements Team as the Trade Support Operating Model evolves.Managing relationships with our internal and external customers, particularly our Dealing Desk, Fund Management, Distribution, external clients, and consultants.Managing relationships with key external service providers including custodians, administrators, system vendors, auditors, and regulatory reporting partners.What you will need to be successful in the roleExcellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.Strong understanding of securities and investment markets and the regulatory framework within which they operate.Strong understanding of treasury/banking operations and the post-trade execution life cycle.Good understanding of ILIM's business with a blend of technical ability, judgment, and commercial awareness.Strong organizational, planning, and communication skills with an ability to build and maintain good working relationships.Ability to prioritize key tasks and see them through to completion.Questioning attitude and an ability to recognize and resolve problems as they arise, and to know where to escalate when necessary.Desire to challenge & improve practices and processes as required.Proven ability to meet tight deadlines and work well within a team environment.High level of accuracy and attention to detail.A 3rd level qualification (preferably Finance related).About usIrish Life Investment Managers (ILIM), an investment firm authorized by the Central Bank of Ireland, has been part of the Great West Lifeco group of companies since 2013.
