Vickerstocks Client is seeking to recruit a Managing Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager to join our main contracting team in a permanent role based at our offices in North Dublin and focused on various projects around Dublin and surrounding counties.

THE ROLE Managing Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager DUTIES: Managing and taking responsibility for the commercial aspects of multiple projects concurrently from initiation to completion, including final account negotiations.
Collaborating closely with the operations and delivery team to ensure efficient project execution.
Supervising project cash flow.
Identifying and managing risks and opportunities.
Serving as a mentor to junior surveyors / project surveyors and providing commercial support and guidance to both immediate team members and the broader project team.
Overseeing and assisting in the management of major suppliers and subcontractors across various projects.
Directing the procurement of new suppliers and subcontractors.
Conducting cost reporting, including the preparation of accurate monthly Cost Value Reports for monthly review with senior leadership.
Handling pre and post-contract correspondence on projects.
Managing the commercial aspects of projects, including budget preparation and monitoring, in collaboration with the Project Team and Senior Management.
Reviewing and assessing Value Engineering Opportunities across all projects.
REQUIREMENTS: Essential Skills: Strong commercial background in main contracting.
Previous experience working on Residential, Commercial, and Industrial or similar projects with a Main Contractor.
In-depth knowledge and understanding of construction processes, techniques, and systems.
Ability to coach and mentor more junior staff.
Strong negotiator with a client-focused approach.
Ability to understand contract conditions and experience with the same.
Proficiency in understanding the measurement of quantities.
Highly motivated and ambitious.
Education & Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying.
7-10+ years' experience in quantity surveying and commercial roles.
