Purpose Evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications. Improve existing manufacturing processes and act as liaison between production and engineering group in resolving problems encountered on the production floor. Assist with the introduction of new products into the Operations production area.
Responsibilities Participates in project teams to identify and implement process/product improvement alternatives to increase/optimize yield, efficiency, throughput, and/or performance.Design, perform, and document engineering test experiments to evaluate product performance.Participate in Quality improvement activities.Design, develop, test, and validate equipment, tools, and fixtures.Analyze and interpret process models and recommend process improvements.Evaluate external process technologies.Participate in equipment and process validation. Write protocols and reports for Equipment Installation Qualification, Operational Qualification, and Process Performance Qualification.Has working knowledge of Risk Management & Failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA) requirements.Interface with assemblers, production supervisors, and engineers in troubleshooting problems on the production floor.Coordinate with suppliers and external resources needed in developing and implementing process/product improvement plans.Act independently to implement and follow through.Perform root cause analysis of failed products.Participate in project planning and scheduling.Optimize processes for yield improvements, cycle time improvements, and scrap reduction.Attend and contribute to product core team meetings.Perform responsibilities required by the Quality System and other duties as assigned or requested.Qualifications & Experience Requires a minimum level 8 qualification in a relevant Engineering / Science degree.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Ability to work as part of a team and meet targets/goals efficiently.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Demonstrated decision-making skills.Minimum of 3+ years' experience within a manufacturing environment.People management experience is advantageous.About us At Boston Scientific, you will find a collaborative culture driven by a passion for innovation that keeps us connected on the most essential level.
