A leading medical device manufacturer in Galway is seeking an experiencedManufacturing Engineerto support and improve production processes, troubleshoot equipment issues, and lead continuous improvement projects to optimize efficiency and quality. Job Functions: Analyze production data to identify and resolve machine breakdowns and performance issues. Lead continuous improvement initiatives, using Lean and Six Sigma tools to enhance operational efficiency. Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Marketing, Production, Clinical, and Regulatory teams to integrate new products and implement process improvements. Design and improve fixtures and workstation layouts using CAD software. Draft and review Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and maintain accurate documentation. Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support to technicians and production teams. Measure line and workstation performance to identify improvement opportunities. Coordinate with Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) teams to ensure equipment and processes meet safety standards. Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (e.g., Mechatronics, Mechanical, Biomedical) or related field. Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, ideally within the medical device or a similar industry. Familiarity with assembly processes such as Centerless Grinding and Point Coil Winding is a plus. Demonstrated experience working with cross-functional teams to implement impactful solutions. Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills. Analytical problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to continuous improvement. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Project, Excel, Word). In-depth understanding of medical device quality systems and regulatory requirements. Knowledge of Lean tools and Six Sigma methodologies, with experience in 5S and TPM; Green or Black Belt certification preferred.
