Job Description We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Manufacturing E ngineer to join our team in Galway, Ireland .
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the manufacturing engineer will be responsible for developing, supporting, and improving all manufacturing activities and will liaise with quality, sales, customers, and suppliers on customer requirements with regards to technical related production issues.
The role involves project management and leadership of cross functional teams assisting with the introduction/transition of new equipment/technologies and new processes in the area.
Role and Responsibilities Responsibilities include the identification, specification, introduction, management and validation of new equipment, processes, and technologies.
Maintain work areas, equipment and supplies in a manner which conforms to the requirements of the Nordson Medical quality system, 6S, GMP and safety.
Provide specialised input and leadership on the resolution of technical processing issues and deliver/implement process improvements.
Maintain effective open communication within the team and foster cross- functional relationships.
Act as the technical lead to the production team to assist in the delivery of the key performance metrics for the relevant production area and seek out every opportunity to reduce manufacturing costs.
Maximise yields through process optimisation and identify and remove waste in accordance with lean manufacturing principles.
Maintain records in accordance with the Nordson Medical quality system and ensure that all products manufactured meet the specifications, performance & quality criteria of end users, customers, regulatory authorities, and the company.
Work with suppliers to identify and understand advancements in the market that are appropriate to be introduced to Nordson Medical.
Manage and develop processes for new product/product iterations and new technologies to demonstrate capability and key performance metrics.
Lead improvement initiatives including investigation, trouble shooting, driving effective determination of root cause and champion a structured approach to problem solving using lean tools and 6 sigma principles.
Skills and Qualifications Hold a relevant 3rd level qualification and/or 3 years relevant manufacturing experience.
3 + years technical engineering in the medical device or allied industry.
Working knowledge of Quality Management Standards Strong Project Management skills.
Good organizational skills and orientation to detail Experience of problem-solving techniques Strong communication, reporting and presentation skills.
Strong time management focus.
Drive, energy and enthusiasm for delivering to commitments.
Experience in the Medical Device Manufacturing industry would be a distinct advantage.
