Purpose of the role The Marketing Automation Lead will drive the development, governance, execution, and continuous improvement of our marketing automation strategy, platform, and customer journeys, ensuring maximum value for our Professional and Consumer audiences.
This role sets the strategic direction and roadmap, enabling innovative, personalized experiences for prospects and customers.
You will define the vision, prioritize features, and deliver solutions for stakeholders to execute effective, multi-channel marketing campaigns.
Reporting to the Senior Director of Digital, EMEA, you will collaborate closely with marketing and analytics teams across regional and global offices to optimize processes, enhance customer experience, and increase user engagement.
What to expect: * Lead the Marketing Automation Platform Strategy & Vision: Serve as the primary decision-maker for the marketing automation vision for each stage of the customer lifecycle, journeys and roadmap, ensuring alignment with EMEA's digital growth and engagement goals.
* Product Ownership: Develop and execute a comprehensive product strategy and roadmap that aligns with business objectives and customer needs for our marketing automation platform (SFMC & Microsoft Dynamics).
* Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Marketing teams, Compliance, IT, and Data Analytics to gather insights, prioritize requirements, translating business needs into actionable platform capabilities and customer journeys, identifying opportunities to reduce costs, increase conversions retention and improve efficiencies.
* Journey Development: Own and manage journeys for both Consumer and HCP engagement and lifecycles, prioritizing features that deliver maximum business value.
Work closely with IT teams on implementation, platform integrations, and the rollout of new capabilities across markets.
Work closely with the engineering team to define business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria, ensuring high-quality delivery and seamless integration across the product portfolio.
* Data-Driven Optimization: Partner with the EMEA Marketing, Digital Analytics & BI Teams to track campaign performances to continuously optimize marketing automation strategies.
Using real-time analytics and insights to analyse the effectiveness of customer acquisition and retention campaigns and the impact they have on end-to-end customer experience.
* Audience Segmentation & Personalization: Work with market teams to develop, manage, and optimize key audience segments, enabling personalized, data-driven engagement across various touchpoints for HCPs and Consumers.
Define ways of enhancing outcomes of segmentation and personalization efforts.
Establish a cohesive 360 ? view of digital marketing processes and their outcomes.
* Community of Practice: Establish and lead a community of practice focused on marketing automation excellence, sharing best practices and driving adoption of advanced automation tools and techniques across all local markets to increase digital maturity.
* Seamless Integration: Oversee the integration of marketing automation platforms with other digital tools and services (CRM, Analytics, CMS), ensuring a smooth customer experience and enhanced data flows.
* User Adoption & Enablement: Drive platform adoption by developing comprehensive business use cases, providing training, and supporting local market teams.
Focus on improving engagement metrics, user proficiency, and overall satisfaction with the marketing automation tools.
* Governance & Data Quality: Ensure high standards of governance, data quality, and data integration within the marketing automation systems.
Implement quality management protocols for data capture, storage, and automation.
* Data Harmonization & Activation: Partner with global and regional marketing teams to optimize data capture, harmonize datasets, and activate 1st-party data for personalization and closed-loop measurement.
* Commercial Enablement: Lead the development of internal processes that enable real-time decision-making and commercial actions.
Work with local and regional teams to ensure marketing automation efforts directly contribute to business goals.
* Journey Mapping & Design Thinking: Apply customer journey mapping and design thinking methodologies to solve complex business challenges, optimizing touchpoints to deliver seamless, personalized experiences.
* Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on the latest marketing automation trends, technologies, and tools.
Lead the exploration and adoption of new marketing automation features that enhance customer acquisition, engagement, and retention.
Formulate AI-driven use cases, leveraging the true power of machine-learning to implement highly targeted and personalized consumer experiences that lead to visibly beneficial outcomes.
* Tool Expertise: Utilize self-service reporting tools such as Google Analytics, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Microsoft Dynamics and other marketing automation platforms to monitor performance and drive continuous improvements.
Who are we looking for?
* Bachelor's degree required (master's degree preferred).
* Experience in a Marketing Automation product ownership role, preferably within a global organization.
* Proven track record of successfully managing the strategic development of CRM systems; experience and qualifications with SFMC and or Microsoft Dynamics 365 is highly beneficial.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an understanding of CRM and Marketing Automation technologies, best practices, and industry trends.
* Experience leading technology teams to advance data-driven marketing and customer experience capabilities.
* Success working in a highly matrixed environment, with experience in influencing cross-functional and senior management to impact decision-making.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to bridge the gap between technology and business needs.
* People management experience, with a demonstrated ability to lead a team of CRM administrators and drive ongoing system enhancements.
* Familiarity or exposure to data visualization, social analytics, A/B testing, and client databases.
* Prior experience working with advertising agencies and technology suppliers.
* Ability to balance global vs. regional needs and demands.
Physical Requirements for Position: * Walking, sitting, standing, hearing, effective verbal communication, vision, inside environmental conditions, sedentary work.
* This position is located in Dublin, Ireland, and involves less than 10% domestic travel.
