Mechanical Maintenance Technician - DAYS Matrix Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Mechanical Maintenance Technician for our client based in County Westmeath, a leading company in the chemical manufacturing industry.

The Mechanical Maintenance Technicianwill be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of machinery and equipment by performing regular maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs.
Also managing preventative maintenance schedules, ensure compliance with safety standards, and work to improve equipment reliability and performance.
This is a permanent, Monday to Friday role DAY SHIFT (9am 5pm).
Mechanical Maintenance Technician Responsibilities: Perform routine maintenance on mechanical equipment, including pumps, compressors, valves, reactor systems, HVAC systems, and utilities, ensuring smooth operations.
Conduct inspections, troubleshoot, and diagnose mechanical issues to minimise downtime and maintain continuous equipment functionality.
Execute preventive maintenance procedures and schedules to ensure equipment reliability and compliance with regulatory standards.
Collaborate with engineering and production teams on equipment upgrades, installations, and modifications.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment logs, and reports, to track equipment performance.
Actively participate in safety programs, provide technical support to junior staff, and contribute to organisational goals by focusing on performance, safety, and collaboration.
Mechanical Maintenance Technician Requirements: Degree or diploma in an engineering technical degree or related field.
Minimum of 3 years experience as a mechanical maintenance technicianin a manufacturing or industrial environment, ideally in the medical, pharmaceutical, or biopharmaceutical industry.
Experience with mechanical systems (pumps, motors, valves, piping) with proficiency in troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and compliance with regulatory standards.
Skilled in interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and P&IDs, with experience in using hand and power tools for repairs and maintenance tasks.
Proficient in Microsoft Office software, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, with preferred experience in using Maximo for maintenance management.
