We're currently recruiting for an exciting opportunity with an award-winning Poultry organization based in Wicklow.
This is an excellent position for anyone who is looking to join a leading multinational who are one of the best at what they do Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and innovative Meat Technologist to join our team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, improving, and overseeing the production of high-quality meat products.
This role involves designing new recipes and formulations, optimising processing methods, and ensuring strict compliance with food safety regulations and quality standards.
The Meat Technologist reports directly to the Operations Manager.
Key Responsibilities: Develop and enhance meat products, focusing on taste, texture, and nutritional value.
Oversee processing techniques such as curing, smoking, freezing, and packaging.
Conduct research on new technologies, and methods to enhance product quality.
Develop, validate, and prepare samples as required for both internal and external customers, ensuring that all products developed are appropriate to the specific application.
Conduct quality control checks to ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including R&D, quality assurance, and production, to implement best practices and achieve company objectives.
Collaborate with sales team to ensure delivery on customer requirements and expectations and identify potential new opportunities.
Monitors hygiene standards and implement measures to prevent contamination.
Analyse production processes for efficiency and sustainability improvements.
Assist the team and customer with technical queries that may arise.
A strong focus on innovation and quality assurance to deliver safe, high-quality meat products to consumers Qualifications & Experience: BSc in Food Science or equivalent.
Extensive experience and a proven track record of product development, preferable from a company working with processed meat, poultry meat alternative or prepared meals Significant experience in meat finished product application/ingredient manufacturing/processing.
Good knowledge of meat industry associated product categories such as process aids and functional ingredients.
Experience in customer presentations and customer driven technical support.
Key Skills & Competencies: Effective project management skills.
Excellent English language skills both written and oral.
Ability to work both independently and as a team player with an ability to collaborate across departments and with external partners.
Attention to detail in reporting and an ability to work to deadlines set.
Flexibility to travel to customer sites if required.
Self-motivated and organised.
Ability to independently plan and execute work to deliver on agreed strategic business plans.
