This RoleThe primary objective of the Mechanic is to support the maintenance of ATC's fleet of vehicles and trailers. ATC is FTAI certified to truck safe GOLD and green standard and invests heavily in having an industry-leading fleet.
Maintenance and repair of a fleet of light and heavy goods vehicles, including articulated lorries, tractor units, rigid trucks, trailers & vans.General servicing and repairs of our fleet of trucks and trailers.Carrying out 12-week checks.CVRT preparation.Tyre maintenance supported by external contractor.Fault finding and preventative maintenance.Maintenance on batteries, including testing and replacement.Completion of all tasks in accordance with Health & Safety regulations and the highest industry standards.Maintenance area and work space to be kept in a clean and orderly fashion.Investigate and diagnose vehicles based on reports submitted by drivers and take the appropriate action.Troubleshoot and make repairs to equipment as necessary.Submit reports as required in addition to maintaining record keeping systems.Support the development of ATC's HGV Apprentice mechanics.On the job learning of the upkeep and running of BEVs.Any other duties that may be required from time to time in line with your skills and experience.Candidate RequirementsAbility to be flexible in respect of work standards and demands. Capable of working under pressure at times and to strict deadlines. Ability to complete tasks. Resilient and able to deal with changing priorities.
The successful candidate will be required to possess and demonstrate:
Qualified Heavy Goods Vehicle Mechanic (HGV Mechanic).3 years' experience repairing truck and trailer fleet or similar.High degree of product and technical knowledge.Strong diagnostics capabilities with good computer skills.Must be organized & self-motivated with strong written and verbal communication skills.Motivated team player with a strong sense of commitment to the team.Ability to understand and carry out instructions via written, verbal, or diagram form.Professional demeanour and superior team service skills.Desirable ExperienceExperience with DAF, Mercedes, Volvo and Scania trucks.Experience with Krone and Schmidt Cargobull trailers.Experience with Dhollandia tail lifts.Telematics and CCTV systems.The remunerating package, including salary and benefits, is negotiable depending on experience.
